Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) seems to be following PUBG India in popularity if the early response is anything to go by. Just a day (July 2) after it launched on Google Play Store for all Android smartphone users, the game developed by South Korean developer Krafton is topping the charts. BGMI has been available in early access since past two weeks and is now out of beta and can be downloaded from Google Play store by all Android users.
Indian version of PUBG
The battle royale game launched as the Indian version of PUBG Mobile after that game was banned in September 2020 along with 100-plus other Chinese apps.
Krafton claims that Battlegrounds Mobile India has been made from scratch for the Indian audience, however, there are several similarities in the to PUBG Mobile. "Battlegrounds Mobile India is a new free game made for Indians," says the game's description.
How to download or update Battlegrounds Mobile India
Players who pre-registered for BGMI only need to update the game from the Play Store. Those who did not pre-register need to completely download the game. All they to do is head to Google Play store on their Android device, search Battlegrounds Mobile India and press on download button. Once installed, just set up the game.
You can migrate your PUBG data to Battlegrounds Mobile India

Battlegrounds Mobile India basic hardware requirements
The recommended hardware requirements for BGMI according to the company is Android 5.1.1 or above and at least 2GB RAM memory. The data transfers will be available until December 31, 2021. When creating a new account for the new app, normal gameplay is possible even if the data transfer is not immediate. The data transfer can only be implemented by using your Facebook/Twitter account.
Krafton says that it is recommended that players start the data transfer right after creating their character and before playing on the new app. If a player proceeds with the data transfer after playing the game with their new account in the new app, the data from the earlier app will replace any data existing on the new app such that all of the player’s progress including purchased items and play data from will be deleted.
