Elon Musk Praises Starlink India Director Sanjay Bhargava, Says He Deserves Credit For PayPal's Success - Gadgets 360

Elon Musk has praised Starlink India Director Sanjay Bhargava for his ambitious project to provide high-speed Internet to rural areas, saying he has “much respect” for Bhargava. Musk said Bhargava deserves a lot of credit for PayPal's success and that he is now helping SpaceX serve rural communities in India. Bhargava, who took charge of SpaceX's satellite broadband operation in India last month, previously worked with Musk on the electronic payment firm. SpaceX's Starlink operates a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit that beam internet to the ground. The company plans to launch its services in India very soon.

Musk's praise for Bhargava came as a response to a report on how SpaceX plans to provide Starlink Internet to rural India. “Sanjay deserves a lot of credit for making X/PayPal succeed. Now helping SpaceX serve rural communities in India. Much respect,” tweeted Musk.

Bhargava and wife Anita Kapur Bhargava have shared in a video presentation SpaceX's plan to roll out Starlink broadband service to rural India next year. It is currently in the process of getting regulatory approvals. SpaceX plans to provide 100 Starlink hardware kits — 20 for Delhi schools and 80 in a rural district close to Delhi — for free. Then, its representatives will work with the NITI Aayog to identify 12 rural districts, three from each region — North, South, East & West — and offer Internet services there. By the end of 2022, the company plans to operate at least 200,000 Starlink devices, 160,000 (80 percent) of those in rural areas. Anita Bhargava said she is helping out Starlink pro-bono.

Musk, previously, said that SpaceX is “figuring out” the regulatory approval process in India.

Starlink is in the beta testing phase in the regions it is currently available. It claims to offer a latency between 20–40 milliseconds and speeds vary from 50Mbps to 150Mbps. India could prove to be a huge broadband market for SpaceX because a vast majority of rural India does not have Internet access.

Apple iPhone 13 price cut to just ₹55,900 from ₹79,990 during Diwali sale! - HT Tech

Apple iPhone 13 price cut: Last month, Apple launched its iPhone 13 smartphones, a new iPad and iPad mini, and the Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch. Along with improvements to the smartphone’s chipset, the new iPhone 13 series comes with improved battery life, new camera modes and more storage. Since then, Apple’s iPhone 13 series has been priced at 69,900 for the iPhone 13 mini and 79,990 for the iPhone 13. However, the latter is currently available for 55,900 during the festive season.

Customers looking to buy the latest iPhone 13 model can get a large discount, bringing the price down by 24,000 during the Diwali sale, according to a report by India Today. The low price of the iPhone 13 can reportedly be availed through the company’s official reseller in the country, after store discounts, cashback options and an exchange bonus.

On the Indiaistore website, the premium reseller has revealed that customers can avail a discount of 6,000. This can be paired with an exchange bonus of 3,000. This brings the price down to 70,900. However, the reseller also lets users exchange their old iPhone, which can bring down the price even further. The website lists the example of the iPhone XR, which was released in 2018. With the exchange offer, the listed price of the iPhone 13 drops down to 55,990.

On the hardware front, the iPhone 13 comes with the company’s in-house A15 Bionic chipset, which is the fastest smartphone chip available today. The device comes with 4G and 5G connectivity, a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, 128GB (or more) of storage, dual 12MP wide and ultrawide cameras, with a 12MP selfie shooter on the front. The device runs on Apple’s iOS 15 operating system and is powered by a 3240mAh battery that can be charged at 20W with wired charging and 15W with MagSafe wireless charging.

Meanwhile, customers looking to upgrade their aging iPhone or Android smartphone might want to act quickly, as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman notes in ‘Power On’, his weekly newsletter, that the global chip shortage seems to have finally caught up with Apple. At this point, it is currently unclear whether the shortage will affect the supply of iPhones, but at the current price, the iPhone 13 offers are almost too good to miss.

Apple explains why its new MacBook Pro lacks Face ID, touchscreen display - India Today

Apple’s new MacBook Pro is not just better than their previous models in terms of performance, they also bring a new design that looks in favour of the type of its users. While the HDMI port and the SD card reader have returned, the display now has a notch and the Touch Bar is no more (RIP!). People are either liking this new design or are not, but both sides have questions about Apple’s new MacBook Pro design. Now, Apple executives have explained at least two of them.

The two burning questions at the moment include the one about the lack of Face ID on the MacBook Pro despite the implementation of a notch on the display, while the other one is about why MacBook Pro still does not have a touchscreen input, while there is a wide range of Windows laptops and Chromebooks with touchscreens.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Apple’s VP of Mac and iPad product marketing Tom Boger took up the question related to Face ID. He said that Touch ID is better suited for the laptop form factor. “Touch ID is more convenient on a laptop since your hands are already on the keyboard.” This argument, however, has not met with the kind of positive feedback Apple may have expected. Face unlocking, such as Windows Hello on PCs, is convenient because you look at the screen to use the laptop, and that is always going to be easier than reaching out for the fingerprint sensor.

And what about the touchscreen displays? Are they ever coming to MacBooks? Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, John Ternus, said an affirmative no to that question. He said that the company is focusing on indirect input on the MacBook, while the touchscreen technology is going to be available only on the iPad. “We make the world’s best touch computer on an iPad. It’s totally optimized for that. And the Mac is totally optimized for indirect input. We haven’t really felt a reason to change that,” Ternus said.

The MacBook Pro’s design is mostly favourable for creators because it brings back more connectivity ports, while the screen’s real estate is now even bigger than before. But things like face unlocking and touchscreen are also favoured by creators. For now, Apple does not seem to follow Windows PCs and Chromebooks for their ease of use, thanks to the touchscreen display technology and face unlocking.

Both Apple executives also took up the question about a water-resistant MacBook, only to dismiss that idea. “That hasn’t been on many people’s lists,” Boger told The Wall Street Journal.

You Can Now Migrate Your WhatsApp Chats From iOS To Your Pixel Phone - We are Social Media

Google announced that you can now easily migrate your WhatsApp chats from iOS to your Pixel and Android 12 smartphones.

Google last week announced that it is making it possible to migrate WhatsApp’s chat history from iPhones to Android 12 smartphones and all new Pixel phones.

The feature, which was already supported on all Samsung Galaxy devices, will also soon be made available from the factory on new smartphones launched with Android 12.

WhatsApp introduced the possibility to migrate chats from iOS to Android this summer, with a relatively simple process. With the use of a USB-C to Lightning cable, WhatsApp will prompt the scan of a QR code on the iPhone and start the transfer process between the two devices.

Google notes that not to lose any messages in the transfer, the iOS device will not be able to receive any new WhatsApp messages during the migration process.

The company has also worked closely with the team at WhatsApp to ensure that the content being transferred remains safe throughout the process.

Finally, according to the announcement, Google is working with phone manufacturers to make the feature available out of the box on all devices issued on Android 12.

At the same time, users of Android devices updating their systems to Android 12 may soon gain access to the feature, according to Google.

Apple eyeing 2022 release date for the upcoming 'iMac Pro'? - HT Tech

For all those fans who just can't have enough of the Apple products, here is something that will make them happy. Apple is reportedly working on the next-generation iMacs and the moniker that is likely to be slapped on them is "iMac Pro". In fact, MacRumors has it that the new ‘iMac Pro'  will pack the same M1 Pro and M1 Max processors that have been recently put on MacBook Pro models. However, "an added configuration" may well feature on it too.

The reason behind the move to use this name is simple - differentiation of the product from something that may be there on, more or less, the same lines. Differentiation is necessary to ensure the customer is able to put the gadget in perspective and recall the same in detail. Here the differentiation is with the 24-inch iMac, which was rolled out earlier in 2021.

Apple iMac features will reportedly include a 27-inch mini-LED display with ProMotion technology, though some prior rumours have indicated that the next-generation iMac will have a larger display, ANI reported.

Further differences in features is expected and one of the major ones is that, unlike the 24-inch iMac, the "iMac Pro" will have dark bezels, and bezel size could be slimmed down.

Design-wise, it could look similar to the 24-inch iMac and the Pro Display XDR, and Apple has apparently tested Face ID for the machine, but this is not a confirmed feature.

The base model iMac will feature 16GB memory and 512GB of storage, and all models will be equipped with an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and several USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, similar to the MacBook Pro. Apple is also said to be including an Ethernet port on the power adapter, ANI report indicated.

The iMac will not be coming cheap at all. It never has. It will have a starting price that is likely to be over USD 2,000. The launch itself will be in the first half of 2022. The upcoming "iMac Pro" will replace the current Intel-based 27-inch iMac models.

We haven't heard much about Apple's much larger iMac, but sources have confirmed that such a machine is in the works.

Figuring from there, there may be further action happening as far as that gadget is concerned. Now that the work on the 24-inch model is done, the much larger iMac will come in focus and its further development may well be sped up, according to sources. And what may that be? A new 27-inch iMac with a mini-LED display and ProMotion display technology, if sources are to be believed.

Apple's AR/VR headset rumored to be a premium device arriving in 2022 - Techradar

An Apple device offering augmented reality and virtual reality experiences – a mixed reality headset, if you prefer – has been rumored for years at this point. The latest leaks around the hardware suggest it'll be a premium-level piece of kit, and that it could launch in 2022.

That's as per the Power On newsletter written by Mark Gurman, who has historically been more right than wrong when it comes to his Apple predictions. There's not much new information here, but from the description given by Gurman it sounds like the headset will be more towards the premium end of the market.

"Apple is planning to unleash its own pricey device with advanced chips, displays, sensors and avatar-based features as early as next year," writes Gurman, putting the headset in the context of a similar device from Facebook that we've just heard about.

Facebook vs Apple

Facebook – now called Meta, by the way – is planning a successor to the Oculus Quest 2 that is going to be more expensive and more powerful. The device is official, even if details are thin on the ground, and a 2022 launch has been promised.

From what Gurman is saying, the Apple AR/VR/mixed reality headset will be along similar lines in terms of its functionality and price point. The technology required for these headsets is improving all the time, and next year could be a significant one in terms of new hardware hitting the market.

Facebook/Meta is also rumored to be working on a smartwatch, which is another field that Apple has a serious interest in. If the leaks are correct, it's going to have a front-facing camera, which should help it stand out against the competition.

Analysis: what exactly is Apple building again?

Google Glass being worn.

Google Glass. (Image credit: Future)

It's not been easy to keep track of Apple's potential AR/VR device. What we do know for sure is that Apple boss Tim Cook is very keen on augmented reality, and has been quick to make sure AR capabilities are built into devices like the iPhone and the iPad.

There's nothing to stop a headset combining both virtual reality (entirely enclosed digital worlds) and augmented reality (digital elements laid on top of the real world). The official term is mixed reality, although not everyone uses it to mean the same technology, which muddies the water somewhat.

From what we know so far, it sounds as though there's both a more powerful Apple VR headset, as well as a pair of Apple Glasses that will specialize in AR. It's possible, though rather unlikely, that the rumors around these devices are actually referring to the same piece of hardware with both AR and VR features.

The most likely scenario is that Apple gives us a device like the Oculus Quest 2 for VR and a device like Google Glass for AR. As yet, nothing is official, but we wouldn't be surprised if Apple launched a dedicated AR/VR gadget sometime in 2022.

Windows 11 bug: After haunting Windows 10 users, glitch sneaks into new OS - HT Tech

Microsoft Windows 11 bug is in the news after having troubled Windows 10 users for months. This OS the printing bug that was revealed a long time ago, but it is refusing to be killed off despite repeated attempts by Microsoft. In fact, far from getting killed, every new fix issued by Microsoft has been bypassed by the bug and in fact, it seems to have grown bigger in terms of the problems it poses. Even as one problem is sorted, another one appears elsewhere, defying all attempts to eradicate it permanently. Now that it seems to have migrated to Windows 11, those new to the system are facing problems too. And if recent actions are anything to go by, it will continue pose a big problem.

Cumulative Update, KB5006674, for Windows 11 was released by Microsoft recently to fix a networking issue, reveals MSPowerUser. It was the first update released for Windows 11 after its official roll out. Now, another one would be required to get rid of the printing bug. This after months of having had to figure out the problem on Windows 10. In fact, Windows 11 itself had gone through months of testing by the company itself as well as through Windows Insider programme before it was rolled out on October 11 without the problem being pre-empted.

Users on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 are facing issues certain issue while connecting to a print server, MSPowerUser revealed. These issues are:

0x000006e4 (RPC_S_CANNOT_SUPPORT)

0x0000007c (ERROR_INVALID_LEVEL)

0x00000709 (ERROR_INVALID_PRINTER_NAME)

These issues are welling up mostly in enterprises.

In the meanwhile, all those who have been eagerly waiting for Windows 11 OS to be available on their PCs, but were disappointed till now, may have a reason to cheer as it has been revealed that Microsoft is rolling out its latest software to more PCs in the next few days. When Windows 11 was initially rolled out, most of it had gone out to new PCs and now, it seems it is the turn of the users who will get the upgrade for free.

"The availability of Windows 11 has been increased and we are leveraging our latest generation machine learning model to offer the upgrade to an expanded set of eligible devices. We will continue to train our machine learning model throughout the phased rollout to deliver a smooth upgrade experience," The Verge, quoted Microsoft as saying.

Fortnite leak reveals No Build Game Mode; it may make some gamers unhappy - HT Tech

Fortnite, the battle royale game that is available for Windows, Android, and consoles, has grown in popularity since it was first launched in 2017. The game has updated its core experience, the map and the storyline with the arrival of every new season, making it one of the most popular mobile games despite the game being removed from both iOS and Android app stores after developer Epic Games clashed with Apple and Google over in-app purchases. However, a new leak suggests that the game could receive a big update that could fundamentally change how the game works - with a new No Build game mode.

Unlike popular games that fall under the same battle royale category like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) or Call of Duty: Mobile, Fortnite sets itself apart thanks to one useful feature - building. From walls, stairs (or ramps) and even roofs, gamers can quickly build structures in the game, to keep themselves safe from other players and gain the upper hand in each match. However, according to a leaker, it looks like Epic Games could be working on a No Build Game mode that could offer the same action-packed gameplay, minus the creativity of the building mode.

Spotted by VGR, a dataminer called GMatrixGames has shared an image for a Limited Time new game mode which suggests that the developer is currently working on the mode. If such a No Build game mode were to make its way to the game in the future, it could put experienced players (who are very quick at building structures) on equal footing with more casual gamers who might appreciate the No Build Mode. Unfortunately, at this point, there is very little information about the No Build Mode.

The report also points out that even if Epic were to bring such a mode to Fortnite, it would most likely remain a limited-time game mode. This means that gamers will be able to enjoy the mode (if it is launched) as long as it is one of the game modes offered by Epic. However, Epic has, in the past, turned game modes from limited-time game modes to permanent modes -- for example Team Rumble, which is now a regular fixture in the game. At the moment, we do not know if or when Fortnite will actually add this rumoured feature to the game, but gamers should stay tuned in the coming weeks to learn more about the upcoming season that is expected to land in December.

Come November 1, WhatsApp will not work on THESE smartphones; here`s why - Zee News

New Delhi: The latest WhatsApp upgrade is set to go live tomorrow, November 1, 2021, and it contains some extremely terrible news for a large number of users - potentially millions. The new WhatsApp upgrade will bring a lot of changes, one of which will affect users who have old phones with outdated operating systems.

These phone owners' WhatsApp support will be halted, and they will be unable to use their devices. They will have no choice but to get a new smartphone as a result. Even though their present phone is in good working order, this will entail a significant financial investment. Another option for these customers is to attempt updating their phones to a higher OS version that complies with WhatsApp's criteria.

While some phones may be capable of doing so, the most majority will not be able to reach the necessary high levels, resulting in a WhatsApp restriction. This will happen not only to Android phone users, but also to Apple iPhone users.

There are two methods for determining whether or not you are safe. The first is readily answered by this WhatsApp announcement on which smartphones it will support. According to WhatsApp, "The following devices are supported and recommended by us: Android versions 4.1 and up are supported. KaiOS 2.5.0 and newer, including the JioPhone and JioPhone 2. iPhone running iOS 10 and newer KaiOS 2.5.0 and newer, including the JioPhone and JioPhone 2." WhatsApp will not work on any phones that do not have these or higher software versions.

The second option is to look through the list of phones that will be blocked by WhatsApp, which is supplied below.

Smartphones on which WhatsApp will stop working:

Samsung: Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2.

ZTE: Grand S Flex, ZTE V956, Grand X Quad V987 and Grand Memo.

Sony: Xperia Miro, Xperia Neo L, and Xperia Arc S.

Others: Alcatel, Archos 53 Platinum, HTC Desire 500, Caterpillar Cat B15, Wiko Cink Five, and Wiko Darknight, Lenovo A820 UMi X2, Run F1, THL W8.

LG: Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II, Dual Optimus L5, Best L5 II, Optimus L5, Dual Best L3 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7, Dual Best L7 II, Optimus F6, Enact Optimus F3, Best L4 II, Best L2 II, Optimus Nitro HD, Optimus 4X HD and Optimus F3Q.

Huawei: Ascend G740, Ascend Mate, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL, Ascend P1 S, and Ascend D2.

Apple: iPhone 6, iPhone 6s plus, iPhone SE

The notch cut into its screen is a little smaller, which makes the screen to body ratio even larger. The primary camera is 12 megapixels and it also has a 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor at the back which is now diagonal instead of vertical and is also slightly bigger for improved quality. The iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 2532 x 1170 resolution. The display is covered with a Ceramic Shield, but you should nevertheless get a screen protector.

You can check the value of your smartphone on the company's official reseller website for details. (https://ift.tt/3jNArlB)

Apple’s 2021 flagship iPhone 13 is a fantastic smartphone. Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the iPhone 13 has a ‘robust demand’ while supply chain inventory is still lacking. Specifically, the number of former Android users switching to the iPhone is growing in double digits.

The iPhone is powered by Apple’s latest A15 Bionic chip and runs on iOS 15. Apple iPhone 13 packs a 3,227mAh battery that supports 20W wired fast charging via lightning port and wireless charging.

JioPhone Next First Impression: Affordable Smartphone In A Class Of Its Own - News18

Reliance Jio is set to unveil its next big, and possibly the most awaited, smartphone this Diwali. The JioPhone Next comes after the massive success of JioPhone, a blockbuster that has sold more than 110 million units. The feature-rich albeit unassuming device has connected millions of Indians to the internet for the first time. And now comes JioPhone Next, an affordable smartphone with features unheard of in the same price bracket. The JioPhone Next was announced by Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries, at the company’s 44th AGM in June and is being made in partnership with Google.

The JioPhone Next is priced at Rs 1,999 (down payment) plus Easy EMI schemes for 18 or 24 months. It can even be bought for a one-time payment of Rs 6,499.

This made in India and made for India phone is set to go on sale from Diwali (November 4) with the hope of ushering in millions of more Indians into the smartphone universe. From the first impressions of the phone, it looks the hope could very well come true.

On the outside, the JioPhone Next looks like any other Android phone, but the difference is inside (and in the price). The JioPhone Next seeks to solve the key problems that plague the budget Android smartphone market: sluggishness and lack of updates. At its core is the Snapdragon QM215 chipset, designed for Android Go (a less resource intensive version of Android) along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The phone runs Pragati OS, which appears to be based on Android Go.

The interface is free of clutter and the good thing here is that Jio hasn’t attempted too many customisations which is the bane of many Android forks. There are quite a few pre-installed apps (much of which cannot be uninstalled). These, in addition to the usual Google apps, including Jio’s wide family of apps such as JioCinema, JioGames, JioMart, JioMeet, JioSaavn, JioTV and MyJio. Also installed are the Meta family of apps, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. A number of the pre-burned apps are in fact lighter versions customised for Android Go devices, such as Assistant, Gallery, JioCinema, Facebook and JioTV.

The phone runs Android 11 with the September 5, 2021, security update out of the box. The promise of regular over-the-air updates automatically puts the JioPhone Next much ahead in the line. This dual-SIM device supports nano-SIM cards and also has a slot to add up to 512 GB of external storage, which should be more than enough for most users.

It has a slot for a 3.5mm jack. However, the box doesn’t include a pair of earphones (a little too much to expect from a budget phone). The battery is a largish 3500mAh. In my limited usage, it seems to be holding up fine, but then any verdict on the battery can be reached only after extended use.

The box includes a charging adapter and a USB Micro-B cable. I was half expecting a Type-C. But then I guess this is because of chipset limitations. The 13-megapixel camera on the back and the 8 megapixel one on the front do their job well. The HDR enhancement improves images considerably. Even in the dark, the night mode captures details to satisfactory levels.

With and without HDR enabled.

The 720×1140 screen is bright and responsive, though a little prone to visible fingerprints. The single speaker on the back is loud enough for general usage.

While using the JioPhone Next for regular use, often you do not realise that this is a budget phone, until you lock the phone and have to unlock it again. The lack of a fingerprint sensor might appear to be a big deal in more expensive phones, but not the JioPhone Next.

In all, the JioPhone Next packs in a lot more bang than the buck, you would be paying for this. Only Rs 1,999 upfront and the rest depending on the plan you choose for.

Aided with intuitive and easy to use apps such as Google Assistant Go and support for several Indian languages, the JioPhone Next appears well placed to usher in millions of unconnected Indians to the Indian internet universe. At the same time, it appears to be quite an able device for children who now need a phone for online education. Or even as a secondary/backup device for the connected Indian.

JioPhone Next is in a class of its own with no other visible competitor matching up to its feature and price combo.

Apple AirPods 3 vs AirPods Pro: what’s the difference? - TechRadar

Once upon a time, the gap between the AirPods vs AirPods Pro was massive. The latter had noise cancellation, water-resistance, custom eartips, adaptive EQ, wider soundstage and support for spatial audio, while the former did not.

The arrival of the AirPods 3, however, fixes nearly all of those problems and puts the two models at a more even parity.

That said, instead of a nearly a dozen differences between the two, we’re only down to just four - which means that the decision can ultimately be made a lot faster than before, especially if price and active noise cancellation are still your main concern.

The choice will still be different for everyone. But, to help you understand which model is right for you, we’ve broken down the key differences below.

Difference #1: Only AirPods Pro have  active noise cancellation

The main reason you’d opt for the AirPods Pro over the AirPods 3 is that the Pro have built-in active noise cancellation. That allows you to take them out into the world and not be disturbed by outside noise. They’re our preferred travel companions for that reason, and work wonders on your commute when you just need to zone out for a while.

Now, even if you don’t opt for the powerful active noise cancellation option, the basic AirPods will give you some level of what we call passive noise isolation that comes from the buds blocking some part of the ear canal. This isn’t nearly as powerful as proper ANC, but you should know that you’ll at least get some form of noise reduction from both buds.

AirPods Pro

Difference #2: AirPods Pro have silicone eartips for a better fit...

While there’s not a massive difference in terms of design between the two earbuds, there’s one substantial difference that’s worth pointing out: the AirPods Pro come with interchangeable eartips that help facilitate a tighter and more comfortable fit.

A tighter fit may sound more uncomfortable at first, but tighter fitting earbuds actually provide the best bass response as no sound is wasted by escaping the ear. Because the tips are made of squishy silicone, it doesn’t hurt that they’re in the ear canal. In fact, we actually find regular AirPods to be more uncomfortable because the tips are made of inflexible plastic that doesn’t always quite fit comfortably on the outer part of the ear canal

Difference #3:  ...but AirPods 3 have a longer battery life

There is one very clear area in which AirPods 3 are better than the AirPods Pro, and that’s in battery life. The AirPods 3 aren’t exactly class leaders with their six-hour listening time, but that is a substantial improvement on the Pro’s 4.5-hour battery life. Thankfully both pairs of earbuds have an additional 24 hours of charge in the case, so it’s a draw there.

So why do the supposedly superior earbuds have such a short battery life? It all comes down to that active noise cancellation that drains the battery life. It turns out that not having that ability is what helps the AirPods 3 conserve battery and last longer.

the apple airpods 3 next to their charging case

The AirPods 3 are a bit cheaper... sometimes. (Image credit: TechRadar)

Difference #4: AirPods 3 are cheaper (sometimes)

If you’re just basing this off of their MSRP or RRP, the AirPods 3 are the clear winner here. They’ve just launched at $179 / £169 / AU$279 which is significantly cheaper than the AirPods Pro’s set price of $249 / £249 / AU$399.

There’s a catch, though. Because the AirPods Pro have been on the market for a longer period of time, we’ve started to see some great deals on them that bring them down to the price of the AirPods 3. That won’t always be the case every single day, obviously, but if you’re shopping on one of the bigger holidays like Black Friday or Cyber Monday it could very easily be the case that the two earbuds are exactly the same price.

Verdict: You should *probably* buy the AirPods Pro

It’s not exactly cut and dry, but we’d say for the vast majority of iOS users the AirPods Pro are the better true wireless earbuds.

On sale, they should be nearly as cheap as the AirPods 3 and features like active noise cancellation and interchangeable earbuds make them more comfortable and functional than their newer counterparts.

That being said, you can make the case for the AirPods 3 as they have many of the same features as the Pro (minus the two we just mentioned) and come at a slightly lower price.

Hopefully that helps clear things up, but if not you can read our review for both earbuds elsewhere on the site or check out our guide to the best true wireless earbuds for more options.
