The Samsung Galaxy M53 was expected to launch in Vietnam on March 27, alongside the M23 and M33. And while those two did arrive on schedule, the M53 is nowhere to be seen.
Instead of an official look at the phone, here is a leaked image. The M53 looks quite different from the Galaxy A53 5G, the design language matches the Galaxy M33 instead with a square quad camera bump in the corner and an LED flash below.
That camera bump is supposed to contain a 108 MP sensor in the main module, by the way. That’s is Galaxy A73 5G’s headline feature (since it lost its telephoto camera). Additionally, there should be an 8 MP ultra wide camera and two 2 MP helpers (macro and depth). As for the front facing camera, expect t osee a 32 MP sensor.

The A73 also has a large 6.7” display – the Galaxy M53 is rumored to have the same diagonal and same refresh rate of 120 Hz. Does that mean that the M53 is really an alternative to the A73 and not the A53? It looks that way.
The M-series model was spotted running Geekbench with the Dimensity 900 chipset. This 6 nm chipset should be comparable to the unnamed 5 nm chipset that Samsung uses in the A53 and A73 (the one that everyone speculates is the Exynos 1280), but we'll find out if that is the case after testing both.
Even the battery appears to be the same with 5,000 mAh capacity and 25W fast charging.
The Galaxy A 2022 models are launching in India one by one. We still don’t have a price for the A73, but the A53 starts at ₹35,000. The Galaxy M53 is rumored to cost VND 10.5 million in Vietnam, which converts to the same amount in rupees. This suggests that the M53 will be a cheaper alternative to the A73. Let’s just hope it has wider availability than the A-phone, as that one is a rare sight (at least for now).
