WhatsApp group polls and the ability to link new mobile devices to your WhatsApp account are in the works. Check details here.
Social networking apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, among others are different from each other in several ways. There are certain features which you can find on WhatsApp but not on Instagram or Telegram and vice versa. But in order to give tough competition to each other and let the users enjoy the application with more features, these companies keep on working on and rolling out new updates. And as per a latest WhatsApp update, the company is working on group polls. Informing about the same, WABetaInfo tweeted, "WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.10.11: what's new? WhatsApp is finally working on group polls for a future update of the app."
Earlier, WABetinfo had announced that WhatsApp is working on the ability to create group polls for a future update of WhatsApp beta for iOS and WhatsApp Desktop beta. And now as per the latest details, the messaging application is working on group polls on WhatsApp beta for Android. "In particular, WhatsApp is working on a new section of the app on WhatsApp beta for Android where to create group polls in a future update," WABetaInfo said in a report.
The report further informed that under the option to create group polls there are some fields where the users will have to fill in the question and their options, and it is possible to add up to 12 possible options. When the feature is rolled out to beta testers, the group poll will be end-to-end encrypted, that is no one can see its content, not even WhatsApp. However, the exact release date for the WhatsApp group poll feature is not yet known.
Other than group polls the messaging application is also working on the ability to link new mobile devices to your WhatsApp account. This will also be rolled out in a future update and a release date for the same is not yet known. "A second version of multi-device was already planned last year, and we have finally new details today: WhatsApp is now working on a proper section where to link another mobile device!," WABetaInfo informed.
The section is called “Register Device as Companion” and it will show up when you try to open WhatsApp on a secondary mobile device. In this case, you can also decide to link your WhatsApp account in order to use it on another device, the report added.
"At the moment, it seems that it is needed to point your main device to the screen of the secondary device in order to link them by scanning the QR Code: after linking your WhatsApp account to a secondary device, you can finally start to use WhatsApp on another phone! Note that, thanks to this feature, you will also be able to link an Android tablet as a secondary device in the future," WABetaInfo said.
