Carl Pei's Nothing unveiled its first smartphone – Nothing Phone (1) – to the world last month. Since then, it has received a few updates addressing some user complaints while improving the smartphone's performance. Nothing Phone (1) has received a new update which brings UI and charging improvements.
The Nothing OS (1) update marked 1.1.2, weighing 38.2 MB, is now rolling out to the Phone (1). The latest update adds some interface functionalities, improves charging performance and brings some bug fixes. Considering the changelog and update size, the Nothing OS 1.1.1.2 seems like a minor upgrade.
Changes to the UI
Firstly, a new toggle has been added to make the fingerprint icon appear or disappear while the screen is turned off. So, you can decide if you want to have the fingerprint icon when the screen is turned off. Furthermore, the always-on display will be turned off at night by default. However, you can have it turned on all the time, but you will not have it by default.
Improvements in charging performance
The update also claims to improve the charging performance. The compatibility with third-party chargers has been said to be improved. Since Phone (1) does not come with a charger, the update could be good for Nothing Phone (1) users willing to use their old chargers. Moreover, the audio codec issue has been resolved in this new update.
Nothing says that the update brings minor UI improvements and general bug fixes, improving the overall system stability.
