Sony launches motion-tracking bands for VR and mocap use - Game Developer
Sony's released a new product in Japan in called Mocopi. Originally reported by Engadget, the product is a series of bands that go on a user's body (specifically, their hands, feet, back, and head) and are then used to track movement, similar to to mocap.
The motion sensors are meant to primarily entice those that dabble in avatars for VRChat and the metaverse. Sony doesn't have a metaverse of its own (at least, not yet), but making technology specifically for those interested in the metaverse can be another avenue for newcomers to be onboarded.
As Sony wrote to Engadget, Mocopi will "free VTubers and creators involved in movie and animation production from time and place constraints." At 49,500 yen (or about $358), these bands reduce the barrier to entry for those looking to enter the animation and game industries.
The price is particularly noteworthy given that for consumer electronics, the back half of 2022 has seen several price increases. Ahead of a potential economic recession, corporations such as Meta and Sony have either increased the prices of their VR headsets and game consoles, or are releasing new products at a higher price.
Before Mocopi's early 2023 release in Japan, Sony plans to release an SDK on December 15 that will allow captured performance data to be imprinted into 3D animation programs. Users will also be able to export pre-existing VR avatars into the software, provided their mobile device meets the specific requirements.
Pre-orders for MoCopi will go live in mid-December. In the meantime, Sony released a setup video showing how the device is intended to work, and it appears to be relatively straightforward, which will be another point in its favor.

Gmail search somehow got even better - Pocket-lint
(Pocket-lint) - Google has announced that it has improved Gmail search to make results more relevant than ever by taking more notice of what you already searched for.
Google confirmed the tweak via a Workspace blog update, saying that people will notice an improved Gmail search when using the web interface. The company says that searching via Gmail on the web now "includes better search results based on your recent search activity in Gmail". The result? We can apparently expect Gmail to have better search results because they're more relevant and contextual.
If that sounds familiar, it's because the same functionality was teased previously, although we're still waiting for the mobile search improvements that were also promised.
The updated search was announced alongside a slew of other changes including the ability to resize a pivot table side panel as well as new Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides filesharing capabilities across Google Meet chat. If that pivot table thing doesn't sound like a biggie to you, you've clearly never had to deal with long names in columns or fields.
"Now, if you are presenting or joining a meeting from a file, you can easily share that file with meeting attendees through in-meeting chat.", Google says.
All three tweaks should be rolling out to users across the internet and around the world now so if you haven't set seen them, hang fire. Google says that the changes are "available to all Google Workspace and G Suite customers".

Gigabyte confirms GeForce RTX 4070 Ti & Radeon RX 7900 graphics cards - VideoCardz.com
Gigabyte confirms RTX 4070 Ti & Radeon RX 7900 lineup
Gigabyte becomes the first company to (inadvertently) confirm its upcoming high-end GPU lineup.
The company has submitted a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti based on NVIDIA GPU and Radeon RX 7900 XTX/XT GPUs featuring AMD Navi 31 RDNA3 processors. Both were submitted to Eurasian Economic Commission regulatory office. However, it should be noted that not all of those cards will be released. We usually see around 80% of those SKUs eventually reach the market, with some models being scrapped along the way. Nevertheless, this tells us the Gigabyte’s master plan or in this case, no plans for Radeon 7900 Master.
Radeon RX 7900 Series
Starting with Radeon RX 7900 series. The company submitted both the RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT GPUs, which are set to launch on the same day (December 13th). The list for both SKUs is almost as long as for the RTX 4070 Ti itself, which means that once again Gigabyte is not making a full-blown launch for Radeon GPUs. Instead, customers will get half-baked AORUS Elite/Gaming GPUs, instead of the premium Aorus Master/Xtreme/Aero/Eagle variants.
However, it is now confirmed that Gigabyte will launch reference models (MBA – Made by AMD), which actually be the first to launch given the recent rumors.
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XTX AORUS ELITE (GV-R79XTXAORUS E-24GD)
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XTX GAMING OC (GV-R79XTXGAMING OC-24GD)
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XTX GAMING (GV-R79XTXGAMING-24GD)
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XTX Reference (GV-R79XTX-24GC-B)
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XT GAMING OC (GV-R79XTGAMING OC-20GD)
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XT GAMING (GV-R79XTGAMING-20GD)
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XT Reference (GV-R79XT-20GC-B)
GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
Finally, we have a confirmation on RTX 4070 Ti. This card should be no secret to anyone, in fact, we know all the specs already. The RTX 4070 Ti is a rebranded GeForce RTX 4080 12GB, which was suddenly unlaunched by NVIDIA last month.
The company will once again try to launch the same card, but with a different, more appropriate name and hopefully better price. It is said that RTX 4070 Ti should appear early next year. The list features almost the entire Gigabyte lineup, with an exception to watercooled AORUS models.
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AORUS MASTER (GV-N407TAORUS M-12GD)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AORUS ELITE (GV-N407TAORUS E-12GD)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING OC (GV-N407TGAMING OC-12GD)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING (GV-N407TGAMING 12GD)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AERO OC (GV-N407TAERO OC-12GD)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AERO (GV-N407TAERO-12GD)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EAGLE OC (GV-N407TEAGLE OC-12GD)

It’s not a secret anymore that Xiaomi prepares to launch the Xiaomi 13 series. The new devices are close to their release and appeared on multiple certification bodies. Now, a new report suggests that the time of waiting is almost over. The Xiaomi 13 series will appear in China on December 1.
According to YouTuber Sahil, the Xiaomi 13 series will launch on December 1. His report is quite interesting since he also suggests the launch in India on the same date. Xiaomi usually takes a few months to bring its flagships to other markets besides China. So, seeing it in China and in India at the same time will be quite a surprise. He also shared some images of the phone in Blue and Brown color finishes. The images confirm a triple rear camera setup and also the Leica branding. This partnership started with the Xiaomi 12S series and is alive for the Xiaomi 13.
Gizchina News of the week
Besides Sahil, another Twitter user, Gadgets Turbo shared multiple color options for the phone. The images show a bunch of colors including White, Red, and Grey. It has been a while since the last release with so many color options. The Xiaomi 13 is gearing up to be a device for all tastes.
Xiaomi 13 alleged specs
According to Geekbench, the Xiaomi 13 boasts the model number 2211133C. The listing confirms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 at the helm. The Xiaomi 13 will get variants with 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM. We are expecting storage to be up to 256 GB or even 512 GB. The benchmark website also confirms Android 13 straight out of the box. With this release, we may also see the first iteration of MIUI 14. According to the 3C website, the phone will launch with 67W fast charging. It’s not Xiaomi’s fastest standard available but still surpasses some flagship phones. The rumors also suggest a 50 MP camera for the phone which might be the IMX890. Besides the vanilla, the company will also introduce the 13 Pro with improved specs.

San Francisco: Snapchat, which avoided the Windows platform with no official apps or support, has finally arrived on the Microsoft Store as a Progressive Web App. According to Windows Central, Snapchat’s Progressive Web App (PWA) will run through Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and 11 PCs.

Progressive Web Application (PWA) is a type of web app that can operate both as a web page and mobile app on any device. The app is based on Snapchat’s web version, which was released just a few months ago, and is powered by Microsoft’s Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, according to the report.
The app has a tiny 1.4 MB install size, and it ensures that Snapchat is always up to date and has the same features as the web version. As the app works through Microsoft Edge, Windows will still treat it like a native app, including an app icon in the Start Menu, notification support, and more, said the report.
Users can download the Snapchat PWA from the Microsoft Store for free. In October, the social media platform rolled out several new features, including “Custom Story Expiration”, which allows premium subscribers to control when their stories expire. Moreover, with the new feature, Snapchat+ (Snapchat Plus) users can set Snaps on their story to expire after one hour or up to one week.

M2 iPad Pro vs M1 iPad Pro: What’s changed? - 9to5Mac
The new iPad Pro with M2 chip takes performance another step forward, but what all has changed from the previous-gen iPad Pro? Follow along for an in-depth look at what’s the same and what’s new when comparing the M2 iPad Pro vs M1 iPad Pro to help you decide what’s the best choice.
In 2021, the 11 and 12.9″ iPad Pro arrived with the powerful M1 chip, Thunderbolt connectivity, 5G for cellular models, new camera features like Center Stage, and more.
Now the 2022 M2 iPad Pro lineup brings a number of tweaks and changes, but many of them are quite minor which could push customers toward the M1 iPad Pro or even iPad Air.
Below we’ll break down all the fine details of the M2 iPad Pro vs M1 iPad Pro. We’ve also got a full comparison of the new entry-level iPad and more:
Table of contents
M2 iPad Pro vs M1 iPad Pro
Performance
The main difference between the new and old iPad Pro is the upgrade from an M1 to M2 chip.
That delivers up to an 18% faster CPU, 35% faster GPU (10-core vs 8-core), and a 2x boost in memory bandwidth from 50GB/s to 100GB/s.
Note: 128, 256 and 512GB models have 8GB RAM, 1TB and 2TB models have 16GB RAM.

Outside of the slight boost in CPU and GPU performance, all the other specs like storage, RAM, Thunderbolt connectivity, and 5G remain the same between the new and old iPad Pro models.
Display
Just like the M1 12.9″ iPad Pro, the M2 12.9″ iPad Pro is the only one that features the Liquid Retina XDR display with miniLED backlighting.
Shared display features across all pro models include up to 120Hz ProMotion, P3 wide color, full laminated displays, anti-reflective coating, and True Tone.
There appears to be just one difference between the new M2 11 and 12.9″ iPad Pro display and the M1 versions – the new Apple Pencil Hover feature.

Connectivity and accessories
The new iPad Pro models work with the same Apple accessories as the previous-gen iPad Pro. That includes the second-gen Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, and Smart Keyboard Folio.
Some small upgrades with the M2 iPad Pro include Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E.

Battery life
The 2022 iPad Pro models with M2 chip feature the same battery life as their predecessors:
- 10 hours of web or video use on WiFi
- 9 hours of web use with cellular
Storage and price
Storage remains the same between the old and new iPad Pro models. And pricing – original MSRP pricing – is also unchanged. However, keep an eye out for M1 iPad Pro discounts with the new models now available.

Cameras, video, and audio
With the iPad Pro rear camera system, you’ve got a 12MP wide lens, 10MP ultra wide lens, LiDAR Scanner, and the True Tone flash.
On the back, you get a 12MP ultra wide lens with Center Stage support.
The only changes between the M2 and M1 iPad Pro, for now, is Smart HDR 4 vs Smart HDR 3 photos and the ability to shoot ProRes video at up to 4K at 30 fps (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB models).

The iPad Pro front camera also features support for Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, and Animoji/Memoji.
Strangely, while the iPad 10 got a handy Landscape ultra wide front camera, the iPad Pro retains the front camera on the top (short side) bezel.
Dimensions, weight, colors
Size and weight are identical between the M2 iPad Pro and M1 iPad Pro according to Apple:
- M2 and M1 11-inch iPad Pro: 1.03 pounds, 9.74 inches (247.6 mm) high, 7.02 inches (178.5 mm) wide, 0.23 inches (5.9 mm) thick
- M2 and M1 12.9-inch iPad Pro: 1.5 pounds, 11.04 inches (280.6 mm) high, 8.46 inches (214.9 mm) wide, 0.25 inches (6.4 mm) thick
Color choices remain the same with silver and space gray.
Other small differences
Two more little differences you’ll see with the M2 iPad Pro:
- Braided USB-C cable in the box instead of a plastic cable
- “iPad Pro” wordmark on the back instead of “iPad” on previous iPad Pro models
- M2 iPad Pro space gray may be slightly lighter than the M1 iPad Pro space gray finish with the antenna line for cellular models being more muted
M2 iPad Pro vs M1 iPad Pro conclusion
Why buy M2 iPad Pro?
When considering all the similarities between the M2 iPad Pro and M1, you’ll probably only want to pick up the new model if you’re a pro with workflows that will benefit from the M2 chip/ProRes support or you’re just okay with spending the money on the latest and greatest from Apple.
The M2 iPad Pro is available at Apple, Amazon, Best Buy, BH Photo, and more with stock looking good across the board.
Why buy M1 iPad Pro?
When you can get the vast majority of the M2 iPad Pro feature set with the M1 iPad Pro and the processor difference not being an issue for most users, picking one up at a discount will probably be a popular move.
Also, don’t forget the iPad Air offers a compelling package at an even cheaper price than the last-gen iPad Pro. That is if you’re okay with the 11-inch size.

If You Love to Read, Grab the Kindle Paperwhite Black Friday Deal Right Now - CNET
I love to read. And while I enjoy the experience of reading real books from the bookstore or library, sometimes it's not practical to carry them around. That's where an e-reader can come in handy: It lets you store hundreds of books on a small device. Even better, e-readers allow you to adjust the font and line spacing to help your eyes find the most comfortable way to read. Oh, and they also come with built-in front lights that illuminate the page without causing additional eye strain.
The latest Kindle Paperwhite is one of the best versions of the device Amazon has ever made, and it's currently on sale for an all-time low of $95. The Paperwhite is waterproof, comes with a larger 6.8-inch 300 ppi E Ink screen, speedy page performance and an insane 10 weeks of battery life. It also features an adjustable warm light that can shift the screen shade from white to amber -- a feature that was previously only available on the $250 Kindle Oasis.
I've owned many versions of the Paperwhite in the past and this is by far the best one yet. I purchased mine at the beginning of September and have yet to recharge the battery. I love the physical page-turning buttons on the Oasis and wish they had made them for this version of the Paperwhite. That said, I honestly think its improved battery life, fast performance and uniformly lit screen allows the Paperwhite to beat the Oasis as the absolute best e-reader on the market.

Sony PlayStation 6 will release after 2027: Official document - BGR India
Sony’s next-gen console, the PlayStation 5 is out for over three years and it could be some time until we get to see its successor. However, no exact timeline was known so far. N0w, an official document from PlayStation LifeStyle reveals that the upcoming Sony console, the PlayStation 6 may not launch until 2027. Activision Blizzard, the company that publishes Call of Duty titles, which are exclusive to PlayStation, was in talks of getting acquired by Microsoft. However, Sony is against the acquisition since the Call of Duty exclusivity may go to Microsoft’s Xbox after the acquisition. Also Read - PS5 restock: How to buy Sony’s gaming console in India today
As per the document, Microsoft may offer Activision’s games available on PlayStation only until 2027.
“By the time SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) launched the next generation of its PlayStation console (which is likely to occur around (Date hidden), it would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, making it extremely vulnerable to consumer switching and subsequent degradation in its competitiveness.”
“Even assuming that SIE had the ability and resources to develop a similarly successful franchise to Call of Duty, it would take many, many years and billions of dollars to create a challenger to Call of Duty – and the example of EA’s Battlefield shows that any such efforts would more than likely be unsuccessful.”
This confirms that Sony’s PlayStation 6 will only be released after 2027 and Microsoft’s next Xbox console may follow along.
Sony launched its PlayStation 5 console back in 2020 and ever since its release, the console faced several inventory and supply issues. However, now the supply seems to be slightly improved, and the console despite being stocked once a month, is available in limited quantities in some stores offline.

Microsoft consoles see a huge price drop for the holidays
This new Microsoft sale has fans quite excited; they are just gunning ahead to get themselves a new Xbox console. Some even went ahead and said that maybe Microsoft is targeting to claim a larger market share this holiday season.
But others claim that it would be hard for Microsoft to touch Sony PlayStation’s numbers. No matter the numbers, one thing is very obvious. This ongoing price war has made owning one of these consoles way easier for gamers.

Gamers must be reminded that on November 18, the day of Black Friday sales, Microsoft reduced the price of Xbox Series S consoles from $300 to $250. This was a good price and thanks to Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription model, people were considering buying Xbox Series S at least as their secondary console.

Microsoft’s real deal is in Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft is one of those companies that are targeting a more casual crowd than its competitor, Sony. Microsoft has made it their initiative to bring real AAA games to people who never even thought of owning a video game console. Through Xbox Cloud gaming and Xbox Game Pass, they have met some success in this too.
On the other hand, Day One availability of many triple-A games on the Xbox Game Pass library makes it a very good deal for regular gamers too. It just gives them a way to stop worrying about pre-orders and the stress of handling a physical copy of a game. Just being able to download numerous games and start playing them where ever you want and on whatever device you want to play them on is the biggest plus point of this service.

Apple to bring proper battery-saving mode to watchOS 9 - The Siasat Daily
San Francisco: Apple will bring a new battery-saving mode in the next watchOS 9 update, to extend the watch’s battery life when needed.
The mode can be manually turned on by using the settings menu or Control Center, reports GSMArena.
Additionally, it alerts the user when the battery has 10 per cent left and automatically turns off once when it charges 80 per cent.
The more energy-intensive features, including always on display, heart rate notifications, arrhythmia tracking, heart rate and blood oxygen readings, will be disabled in the battery-saving mode.
Reminders for workouts will be disabled as well.
The mode will turn off Wi-Fi and cellular connections if there isn’t an iPhone nearby that is connected to the watch, the report said.
Earlier this month, the tech giant had added an optimised battery charging feature in its Apple Watch running watchOS 9 that would learn from users’ charging habits to slow battery ageing.
Similar to the iPhone version of the feature, it figures out when it’s best to charge the battery to 100 per cent based on the user’s charging habits.
