Those who have been enjoying Frictional Games’ Amnesia: The Bunker can expect a new Shell Shocked mode in the near future, according to Frictional Games’ Fredrik Olsson. Initially spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun, Olsson has been dropping hints on X/Twitter over the last little while for the new mode, which is expected just in time for Halloween.

In a series of posts on X, Olsson has revealed Shell Shocked mode to be part of the Halloween update for Amnesia: The Bunker. Shell Shocked mode will effectively remove all of the safeguards, including making the Admin Office safe rooms made of wood, and no longer pausing the game while you’re perusing your inventory. This of course leaves you vulnerable to the monster that’s in hot pursuit.

That’s not all. Shell Shocked will also crank up the randomizations with lockers, corpses, dog tags and bunker rats. This also includes some mission-critical lockers no longer being in Mission Storage, which will instead be randomly distributed in the bunker itself. Oh, and that also includes your pistol, which will now be moved to a randomly spawned location.

Olsson also dropped hints of the Custom mode, which will be added around the same time as Shell Shocked. This mode will allow players to fine-tune their experience, including enabling and disabling aspects of Shell Shocked. When asked when we could expect the Halloween update, Olsson stated the aim is to have the update out in “late October” before Halloween.

Amnesia: The Bunker is current available for the Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. And while you wait, check out Harrison’s recent article regarding the importance of snagging those collectible documents in the game if you’re a sucker for story.

Apple Event 2023: X (formerly Twitter) brings custom animation to like button ahead of iPhone 15 launch | Mint - Mint

Social media giant X (formerly Twitter) has made the changes to the Like button ahead of Apple's Wonderlust event. The Wonderlust event will see the launch of top-of-the-line products including the iPhone 15 series, the new Apple Watch series and AirPods Pro with USB-C.

The Like button splits into similar pieces before returning to the heart shape, very much like the animation seen in Apple's teaser for the Wonderlust event.

According to a report by Macrumors, the metal patterns seen in Apple's teaser video could be a hint at the possible switch to titanium on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.

The report also notes that Apple has been using the unique Twitter 'like' animations since 2020, when it was first used at the 'Time Flies' event in September that year. In addition, similar to WWDC 2023, Apple also used a custom Twitter hashtag with the signature logo for the Wonderlust event.

What's expected from today's Apple event?

The star of today's show will be the four new iPhones - the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Moreover, Apple is reportedly shifting to USB Type-C with the iPhone 15 series due to EU regulations. Standard iPhone 15 models may have limited charging speeds with Apple-certified cables required and only the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will come with the faster data transfer speed.

Apple is also planning to release updates to two of its watch lines this year - the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra. Additionally, Additionally, Apple aims to introduce USB-C charging for its regular AirPods and AirPods Max, with a likely timeframe for implementation by the following year.

Logitech's Reach camera has an articulating arm that lets you point it just about anywhere - Engadget

Logitech just announced a new webcam called the Reach with a flexible and articulating arm, allowing for easy movement and even downward-facing video footage. The company says this is the perfect tool for non-digital show-and-tell presentations, as the downward angle allows you to capture video of the stuff on your desk. In other words, use the Logitech Reach for interactive remote meetings, online tutoring, livestreams and all kinds of other presentations.

The company recommends that users “lay out the content to show first, then position the camera.” To that end, the articulation follows multiple axes, sort of like a microphone stand, for increased versatility in what you can capture. There’s a button for vertical movement and lossless zoom up to 4.3x, with a grip to move the camera along the vertical plane. There are even built-in guidance indicators to help the image stay upright as the camera moves. These axes combine to “create novel vantage points” that remove the pain points of sharing non-digital content.

To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so.

The camera is an enhanced version of the popular Logitech Streamcam with better glass optics and a new smart autofocus feature. Other than that, the specs are the same so expect 1080p/60fps video capabilities. Logitech touts a plug-and-play experience for the device, as it connects via USB and automatically integrates with most computers and streaming platforms. It also ships with a low-profile edge clamp for a more compact experience during use.

Logitech’s being a bit cagey regarding pricing and availability, but there’s a survey on the official site that indicates a discounted price point for early adopters at $300 to $400. As a note, the Streamcam costs around $180 by itself. The Reach won’t be sold via official means, as Logitech's turning to Indiegogo Enterprise to fund the camera. There’s no concrete start date for the campaign.

If you’re wondering if you can buy the mount without the camera, so you can add your own, the answer looks to be no. Logitech product lead Gaurav Bradoo told The Verge that the team considered this move but market research indicated they should go with “an end-to-end solution and not just a mount.”

Of course, Logitech is a multi-tentacled beast and the camera division is just one of many. The company’s been making moves in other areas lately, with a recent refresh to the Pebble line of keyboards and an update to the G Pro X Superlight gaming mouse.

Pictures of Nvidia’s Canceled RTX 3090 Super GPU Leaked - Beebom

cancelled RTX 3090 Super

Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3090 was the top-end enthusiast class offering in the RTX 30 series graphics cards, based on Ampere architecture. Do you remember the RTX 20 Super edition GPUs? Nvidia released these Super cards as slightly faster variants of the existing RTX cards back in 2019. Nvidia came out with RTX 2070 Super, 2060 Super, and more graphics cards back then, shifting to Ti variants later on.

But, as per recent leaks, it seems like Nvidia was all set to release a potential GeForce RTX 3090 Super card. But the Super never came out!

Canceled RTX 3090 Super Graphics Card Revealed

It looks like Nvidia abandoned its plans to continue with the ‘Super’ branding in the RTX 30 series. If you are wondering what this “RTX 3090 Super” GPU is, in simple words, this is what the RTX 3090 Ti was called before the ‘Ti’ suffix was finalized.

There were rumors back in the day about this graphics card, and we dismissed these rumors when the ‘Ti’ variant officially came out. But guess what? These rumors were somewhat true because there was in fact an RTX 3090 Super that some people may have seen, and then leaked. Now, we get to see it too! Take a look at the now-canceled “Super” variant of Nvidia’s top-end RTX 30 series graphics card, which never made it to the market:

  • nvidia RTX 3090 Super leaked image
  • nvidia RTX 3090 Super picture

As you can see in the pictures, this is Nvidia’s 3090 Super Founders Edition. The most striking feature here is the all-black design. Even the X frame of this canceled FE GPU sports an all-black paint job. This RTX 3090 Super features the same Dual Axial Flow fans as all other FE graphics cards from Nvidia. There were probably very few prototypes of this now-canceled graphics card that landed in people’s hands. Thankfully, we got a look at it!

You can read how the RTX 4090 is different in comparison to the RTX 3090 Ti in this dedicated guide. In the actual graphics card that was released, the color scheme was not all-black. The pictures of the canceled ‘RTX 3090 Super’ show a different aesthetic that never made it to the market.

What are your thoughts on the canceled Super variant of Nvidia’s RTX 3090 GPU? Do you like the all-black aesthetic? Do let us know in the comments.

Tecno, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is all set to launch its very first flip smartphone, the Tecno Phantom V Flip. This exciting phone will make its debut on September 22 at the Flip in Style Tecno Flagship Product Launch 2023 event happening in Singapore.

Even before the official launch, some details about this flip phone have already slipped out. You can actually find its cover for sale on a Chinese shopping website called Alibaba.com. This cover gives us a sneak peek into the phone's design. And here's the unique part: unlike most flip phones, the Tecno Phantom V Flip seems to have a round display on the outside cover.

advertisement

Tecno is pretty hush-hush about the specs right now, but they did confirm that the big reveal will happen alongside another exciting product, the Tecno Megabook T1 2023, a 14-inch laptop.

As for what we've seen from the leaked images and info, it looks like the Tecno Phantom V Flip will have a circular display on the outside cover. Around this secondary screen, you'll spot two rear cameras and an LED Flash. If you flip it open, there's a hole-punch display on the front with a sensor.

The phone also made an appearance on the Google Play Console website with the model number AD11. According to this listing, it might have 8GB of RAM and come with Android 13 right out of the box. Under the hood, it's rumored to run on a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chip, paired up with an ARM Mali G77 GPU.

When it comes to the screen, expect a full-HD+ display with a resolution of 1,080 by 2,640 pixels and a pixel density of 480ppi. Camera-wise, it could boast a 64-megapixel main camera on the back, along with a 13-megapixel secondary camera, and a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies. Keeping the lights on might be a 4,000mAh battery, and it could support fast charging at 45W.

Meanwhile, Samsung released its Galaxy Z Flip 5 in August this year.It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display when unfolded, and a 3.4-inch AMOLED cover display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The rear camera system consists of a 12MP main sensor and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. The front-facing camera is a 10MP sensor. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 3,900mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
