How to Schedule an Email in Gmail via Desktop Browser, App - Gadgets 360

Google added email scheduling to Gmail in April 2019. It allows you to draft an email and send it at your chosen date and time in the future. Email scheduling on Gmail is available on both the mobile app and via a desktop browser. It gives you the option to choose a pre-set date and time or enter a custom time at which you want the recipient to get your mail. This can be useful in a variety of situations and only the sender will know that the email has been scheduled.

Scheduling an email on Gmail is quite straightforward and can be done in a few simple steps. Read on to find out how you can schedule an email on Gmail through the desktop browser as well as the mobile app.

How to Scheduling an email on Gmail via desktop browser

  1. Head over to gmail.com and log in with your Google account if not already logged in.
  2. Click on Compose and draft your mail with the recipient's email ID.

  3. Now, instead of clicking on Send, click on the small drop down arrow next to the send button and select Schedule send.

  4. You will be shown a few pre-set options for the next couple of days. If one of those suits you, simply click on it and your email will be scheduled.

  5. If you want to pick a date and time, click on Pick date & time instead.

  6. You should see a calendar where you can select the date for when you want to schedule the mail. Alternatively, you can enter the date in the text field manually along with the time.

Apple boots 'Tinder for anti-vaxxers' off the App Store - NewsBytes

Apple boots 'Tinder for anti-vaxxers' off the App Store
Apple removes Unjected app from App Store over non-compliance with COVID-19 policies, review process

Mainstream dating platforms, including Tinder and Bumble, have teamed up with government agencies to encourage users to get vaccinated. In May this year a similar app called Unjected, described as "Tinder for anti-vaxxers", was launched. Following a recent report by Bloomberg, Apple decided to kick the app from the App Store for violating its COVID-19 policies and bypassing the App Store review process.

What’s Unjected?

Unjected launched in May to help unvaccinated people connect

Unjected touts itself as "a safe space for the unvaccinated to come together uncensored through business, friendship, or love." Reports suggest that the app was launched in May after rival dating apps began to boost the visibility of profiles with vaccination badges. The app also allows people to find businesses and services that voice sentiments against COVID-19 vaccination.

Unjected co-founder Shelby Thomson explains the app's purpose

Speaking to Yahoo in June, Unjected co-founder Shelby Thomson said, "If a business is looking for an unvaccinated employee they can post that listing there or if someone is looking for an unvaccinated doctor they can find them on the app."

An alien kind

Unjected also takes a dig at vaccinated people. The app's Google Play Store description falsely claims that people have experienced "adverse events after being exposed to the Vaccinated." Bloomberg's report published on Saturday analyzed how Apple and Google handled COVID-19 misinformation on Unjected. After this report, Apple kicked Unjected off the App Store for violating its COVID-19 policies.

No credibility

Apple confirmed that Unjected had been removed because it "inappropriately refers to the Covid-19 pandemic in its concept or theme." Apple originally refused to host Unjected on App Store after an initial review since it did not provide credible health and safety information from reputable sources (like government agencies and medical institutions). However, the app was approved after it made changes to comply.

Under the radar

Unjected asked users to avoid using words like 'vaccine', 'jabbed'

After making changes, "the developer has made statements externally to its users as well as updates to the app that once again bring it out of compliance," Apple said. However, Apple claimed Unjected encouraged users to avoid words like "vaccine," "jabbed," and "microchip" to avoid detection. According to Apple, this is an attempt to get around App Store's review processes, thereby violating Apple's policies.

Google’s patience

Developers plan to reinstate deleted posts, social feed feature

Presently, Google's Play Store hosts Unjected. The app had recently introduced a social feed featuring user-generated content including claims that the vaccines were "experimental mRNA gene modifiers" and "nano-technology microchips." Google threatened to remove the app if the content wasn't deleted. The founders removed the social feed although one claimed that the feature and posts will be reinstated, hoping to "stay under the radar."

Unjected's thoughts on Google and Apple's decisions

Commenting on Google's move, Thompson said, "We've had to walk a censorship tightrope." Meanwhile, Unjected said, "We are a respectful group of people supporting...medical autonomy and freedom of choice, and...we believe their unjust censorship policy's on Google and Apple violates our constitutional rights (sic)."

How to Prevent Unknown Users From Adding You to WhatsApp Groups - Gadgets 360

WhatsApp groups are a great way to stay connected to family, friends, or even colleagues, but the feature is often exploited by many to add tons of people to groups in order to sell products or promote services. These groups are often created without permission from participants and this could be frustrating for many. Most of us hate being a part of unnecessary groups and often consider if it's rude to just exit a group. The best way out of this is to have a filter that will stop random people from adding you to groups.

How to prevent unknown users from adding you to WhatsApp groups

Thankfully, there is a setting that you can tweak in the privacy section of you WhatsApp account that spares you from getting added to random groups. This setting lets you customise who can add you to groups and, by default, the setting is set to ‘Everyone', which means anyone with your phone number can add you in a group. It is important to note that group admins can send you invite links and nudge you to join groups, even after you tweak the settings. In order to avoid getting added to groups by random people, follow the steps below:

  1. Open WhatsApp, click on the three dots on the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Click on the Settings option and then tap Account.

  3. Click on Privacy > Groups. The default setting is likely to be set to ‘Everyone'.

  4. You can select from three options — ‘Everyone', ‘My Contacts', and ‘My Contacts Except'.

  5. The ‘Everyone' option lets any user with your phone number add you in a group without your permission.

  6. The ‘My Contact' option only lets those users add you in groups whose numbers you have saved in your contact list.

  7. The last ‘My Contacts Except' option lets you choose exactly who can add you to groups by letting you filter further and delist the contacts you don't want to be added by to a group.

Windows 11 beta: How to download the latest version of Windows 11 on your computer right away - HT Tech

Microsoft Windows 11 is set to be the company’s biggest upgrade to its popular Windows operating system since it released Windows 10 in 2015. Announced in June, the company quickly began pushing out early developer previews to users as part of the Windows Insider Program. Over the weekend, Microsoft announced that it was rolling out Windows 11 on the Beta channel to Insiders, which means users can now download and try out the latest version of Windows on their computers.

If you have been holding out on installing the early builds of Windows 11 on your computer because of stability concerns, the Windows 11 Beta builds should be more stable and fun to use for everyone. However, do note that Microsoft has excluded certain features such as the new Teams integration on the latest Windows Beta build – they will likely be added back to the OS after the company sorts out any lingering issues on the Dev channel.

More From This Section

Windows 11 has received a fresh coat of paint from Microsoft and gained several new features and performance improvements. However, the company had previously revealed that older computers that did not match certain hardware requirements would not be able to upgrade. This also applies to the Beta testing version of Windows 11. While users probably won’t see a stable “release ready” version of Windows 11 for the next couple of months, they can download the latest version of Windows 11 in beta form today, as long as they have a valid Windows licence.

How to check if your PC is compatible with Windows 11

Step 1) Download the latest version of WhyNotWin11, which is an automated script to detect if your Windows PC has the correct CPU, enough RAM and disk storage and other security components for Windows 11.

The WhyNotWin11 tool that can check if your PC is compatible with Windows 11.

Step 2) Run the script and wait for the results to load. The green squares should indicate a component that is compatible with Windows 11, an orange square with a question mark is an unknown value, while a red square (or more) means the PC will likely not run the new version.

How to download Windows 11 Beta version on your PC

Step 1) Press Win + I keys, to visit Settings. Now tap on Update & Security > Windows Insider Program.

Step 2) Click the Get Started button and choose an account to get started, where you will select your Microsoft account.

Step 3) You will have a choice of 3 options -- Dev, Beta and Release Preview. Select the Beta channel.

Step 4) Accept the privacy terms and reboot your PC to set up your device. Now go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and tap the Check for updates button to begin downloading Windows 11 beta on your computer.

Also, do remember that this too will not be the final version of Windows 11, which will be released sometime in October. It may well go through more changes as it is still being tested.
