This smart toilet has LED lighting and Alexa inside but price is shocking - HT Tech

Kohler Numi 2.0 smart toilet has now gone on sale after being shown off at the CES 2019. Here are all the details.

In a world where Alexa and Google Assistant are creeping into our home appliances, cars, scooters, and whatnot, it is only logical to see a smart toilet add to the category. Kohler, the world renowned bathroom fitting maker, had shown off a smart toilet at the CES 2019 but it never went on sale. 3 years later, Kohler has now put it on sale. It is called the Kohler Numi 2.0 and the commode is loaded with tech that you would mostly find in modern-day appliances.

The Kohler Numi 2.0 is a state-of-the-art commode that's laden with tech. It costs a whopping $11500 to buy and that is without the fitment costs and transportation. Hence, for doing your morning routine with an extra serving of modern-day technology, you are paying a lot of money. However, for the tech enthusiasts who cannot let go of their obsession with tech, this is the smart toilet to own.

Kohler Numi 2.0 has lots of tech for bathroom lovers

This high-tech commode looks like most fancy commodes you see in fancy hotel bathrooms but there are visual difference. There's some tasteful LED lighting similar to those gaming laptops from Asus and Dell you see around. The toilet also features in-built speakers, which allow Amazon's Alexa to voice her search results and answers to all your queries you can have in your bathroom. Technically, you will be able to ask your commode to sing you your favourite playlist while you take your dump.

Then there's the toilet bits that are no different from the fancy Japanese toilets we hear of. The commode features a bidet for cleaning your front and back sides, UV lighting for cleaning this bidet, controlling temperature, pressure and position of the bidet, misting of the bowl, auto flush, auto deodorising, heated seat, air dryer and an emergency backup flush. The lid also goes up and down automatically.

There's a handheld remote controller for the basic functions, and the Kohler app for the lights as well as Alexa controls.

Apple not planning ‘Extreme’ Apple Silicon Mac Pro - The Siasat Daily

San Francisco: Tech giant Apple is reportedly not planning to include an ‘Extreme’ variant of M2 chip in its Apple Silicon Mac Pro, and instead, the top-tier Mac is said to feature an M2 Ultra chip.

The Mac Pro is the last model in the entire Mac range to not be powered with an Apple Silicon chip, reports AppleInsider.

While rumours claimed that the tech giant is working on one for release next year, it might not be as powerful as formerly believed.

The model was believed to use an ‘M2 Extreme’ chip, which is a more advanced version of the Ultra chip that combines two M2 Ultra chips onto a single silicon piece.

Theoretically, the chip could have provided 48 CPU cores and 152 GPU cores, but that apparently won’t be happening.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is pulling back from providing a Mac Pro with an Extreme chip inside due to production issues.

The manufacturing of the chip is halted due to concerns about its cost and complexity, therefore the expensive Mac Pro model is scrapped, the report said.

Meanwhile, it was reported that theAtech giant will launch its new MacBook Pro models and the latest iMac next year.

Google expanding customer access to client-side encryption in Gmail on the web - HT Tech

Google is expanding customer access to client-side encryption in Gmail on web. Know who can apply, other details here.

Google has announced that it is expanding customer access to client-side encryption in Gmail on web. Using client-side encryption in Gmail ensures sensitive data in the email body and attachments are indecipherable to Google servers. Customers will be able to retain control over encryption keys and identity service to access those keys. "We're expanding customer access to client-side encryption in Gmail on the web. Google Workspace Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, and Education Standard customers are eligible to apply for the beta until January 20th, 2022," Google Workspace said in a blog post.

“Google Workspace already uses the latest cryptographic standards to encrypt all data at rest and in transit between our facilities. Client-side encryption helps strengthen the confidentiality of your data while helping to address a broad range of data sovereignty and compliance needs," the company added in the blogpost.

Notably, the client-side encryption is already available on Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Google Meet, and Google Calendar (beta).

Who can apply?

Google has informed that customers who have Google Workspace Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, or Education Standard can apply for the Gmail client-side encryption (CSE) beta until January 20, 2023.

OnePlus 10T, OnePlus 10 Pro have the sweetest offers right now: Check details - BGR India

OnePlus launched its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 10 Pro, in January this year. The company launched the OnePlus 10T later in August. Both offer powerful chipsets and come with several highlighting features. Also Read - OnePlus 10T Marvel Edition to launch soon in India: In-box contents revealed

The OnePlus 10 Pro’s launch price was Rs 66,999 and the OnePlus 10T’s price was Rs 49,999. Now, both phones have sweet holiday offers, especially for those who are looking to exchange their old phones. With the offers, the OnePlus 10 Pro can be purchased at around Rs 30,000, whereas, the OnePlus 10T can be grabbed for under Rs 20,000. Let’s check the offers. Also Read - OnePlus 10T is now receiving OxygenOS 13 Open Beta in India

OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 10T have some exciting offers right now

OnePlus has Rs 10,000 flat exchange bonus on Apple and OnePlus phones on its official website. On top of this, there’s up to Rs 6,000 instant discount on ICICI Bank Credit Card direct, net banking, and EMI transactions.

In my case, I tried exchanging my older Apple iPhone 11 with 128GB of storage for both the OnePlus 10 Pro and the OnePlus 10T.

Interestingly, the OnePlus 10 Pro’s price with the exchange bonus came to Rs 36,319. On top of it, Rs 6,000 instant discount made the final price Rs 30,319.

Similarly, with OnePlus 10T after the exchange bonus, the price came down to Rs 24,319. The 10T has up to Rs 5,000 instant discount making the final price Rs 19,319.

The exchange value for my iPhone 11 128GB came to Rs 25,680, which is pretty good for a phone released in 2019.

What’s interesting is OnePlus has Rs 10,000 exchange bonus on even older phones such as OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 5, and others. Apple’s iPhone XR’s exchange value comes at around Rs 24,000, which is solid for a 2018 phone.

Is the deal worth it?

While the final prices of the phones after exchange and Bank offers are lucrative, it is worth noting that OnePlus 11’s launch is right around the corner. The OnePlus 11 will most likely launch next month, i.e. January 2022. But still, if you are able to grab the 10 Pro for under Rs 30,000 it is a good deal since the OnePlus 11 won’t be any cheaper.

The Oneplus 10T’s successor will still take some time to launch, so it is a safe bet if you are considering going for an exchange of your older phone.

Oneplus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10T have Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, respectively. Both come with 120Hz displays and have triple cameras. The duo boots on Android 12 but is upgradable to Android 13. The 10T has 150W fast charging, whereas, the 10 Pro supports 80W fast charging.
