Google Meet gets new features for improving call quality - HT Tech

Google is rolling out a bunch of new features to its video-conferencing platform, Meet. These new features are aimed at improving the quality of calls made using this platform.

The first feature that the company has introduced on its platform is called Gentle notifications. This feature will notify users if it detects that the call quality is degrading. Google in a blog post said that “when Meet detects a performance issue that is impacting call quality, you’ll see a notification bubble describing the issue and a red dot on the “More options” menu.” On selecting the “Troubleshooting & help” option, they will get more information regarding the issue and ways to resolve it.

The second feature that the company is rolling out is called tailored troubleshooting recommendations. This feature will give users personalised recommendations to improve the quality of their calls based on the detected performance issues. Google says that this feature ‘can be useful in situations where decreases in available processing resources are impacting call quality.’
