Apple's latest smartwatch production has been delayed due to its complicated design, the Nikkei reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Manufacturers of Apple Watch began small-scale production last week, but they faced difficulties in reaching satisfactory production performance, the report said.
Production of the smartwatch has been temporarily suspended as the iPhone maker and its suppliers try to sort out the issues and certify the designs before going into mass production, according to the report.
The company was scheduled to unveil the smartwatch along with the latest iPhone models in the coming weeks, but the challenges might affect its shipment plans following the unveiling, the report said.
As per a recent Counterpoint report, Apple Watch has remained a leader in terms of global smartwatch shipments in Q2 2021 and its active user base has now surpassed the 100 million mark.
Counterpoint said that Apple maintained its lead in terms of shipments, but its market share declined to 28 percent in the second quarter from 30.1 percent reported in the same quarter last year. One of the key reasons said to be behind the decline was the “intensifying competition” created by Chinese and Indian brands in the last few months.
Despite the slight dip in market share, Apple Watch has managed to grow its user base to over 100 million for the first time. Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE were also reportedly the top-selling smartwatches globally in the second quarter, followed by the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, Apple Watch Series 3, and Imoo Z6-4G.
Microsoft has stated that Windows 11 will be released on October 5, 2021, which is great for anyone eager to get the new updates, however, there was some bad news shared about Android apps. Since the operating system will be rolled out in phases, not every new feature will be available at the beginning. For those particularly waiting on Android app support with Windows 11, the wait will go on a little longer.
With the release of Windows 10 in 2015, it was said to be the last version of Microsoft's operating system and changes would come as incremental updates rather than a major version change. Six years later Windows 11 was announced and there haven't been many complaints. Windows 10 was generally recognized as a major improvement over Windows 8.1 and Microsoft seems to have done it again. The refreshed look of the next version and improved user interface have been well received. The challenge will be to keep the rollout from taking too long while maintaining backward compatibility.
While Microsoft confirmed that Windows 11 will be available on October 5, 2021, the announcement also confirms the use of Android apps with the latest version will not be available at launch. Instead the app support may take several months to appear in an Insider Preview version of the operating system. The technology is a joint effort involving Intel and Amazon, and although collaborative efforts sometimes take longer they often result in a more thorough solution. The delay could mean Instagram, TikTok, and other Android apps that work best within a phone interface might not be usable on a Windows 11 PC until 2022. Windows 10 has limited support for Android, so anyone upgrading will lose that capability.
Windows 11 Will Support Android Apps
When Windows 11 was announced, Microsoft said that support for Android apps would be expanded, appearing in the Start bar as well as the taskbar just like a Windows app. These mobile apps will become available in the Microsoft Store via Amazon's Android App Store, which will be pre-installed, according to Microsoft. This seems to be an answer to the new ability of M1 Mac computers to run iPhone and iPad apps, which also appear within the system just like a Mac app. Windows 10's Android support was limited to a few Samsung phones, so when the update arrives, it will be a nice feature that opens up access to many more users.
Unfortunately, the recent news from Microsoft indicates it will be several months before Android app support comes. In the meantime, Windows 10 users that can install Android apps and make use of this feature regularly, might want to hold off on upgrading to Windows 11 until Android compatibility is ready. Keeping a smartphone nearby the computer isn't much of a hardship and Windows 11 has enough upgrades that most will probably want to install the free update in October and wait for the extra features, such as Android support to arrive later in 2022.

San Francisco, August 31: Android users are significantly less interested in the iPhone 13 models than they were for the iPhone 12 models, having been put off by the continued lack of a fingerprint scanner and concerns around child safety features, says a new report.
According to a new survey by SellCell, only 18.3 per cent of Android users would consider switching to an iPhone 13, which is a significant decline from last year when 33.1 per cent of Android users were open to switching to an iPhone 12 model.
The survey, conducted earlier this month, asked more than 5,000 current Android users in the US aged 18 or over for their opinions about Apple's upcoming products, revealing how the iPhone 13 and Apple's other expected products are viewed by customers of the rival platform ahead of their launch, reports MacRumors. Apple iPhone 13 With Notch-Less Display Reportedly Spotted in Ted Lasso Web TV Series.
Of the iPhone 13 lineup, expected to consist of a 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, a 6.1-inch iPhone 13, a 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, 39.8 per cent of the Android users open to switching are most interested in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
A little over 36 per cent are most interested in the iPhone 13 Pro, 19.5 per cent are most interested in the iPhone 13 and just 4.6 per cent are interested in the iPhone 13 mini, the report said.
When the potential switchers were asked what would compel them to switch to an iPhone 13 model, 51.4 per cent cited longer software support, 23.8 per cent cited the Apple ecosystem and 11.4 per cent cited better privacy.
In the survey, 31.9 per cent of Android users said that the iPhone 13's lack of a fingerprint scanner for authentication was the main reason they will not consider switching. 16.7 per cent said that they will not consider switching due to iOS's limited customization, 12.8 per cent pointed to iOS's lack of support for sideloading apps. Apple iPhone 13 Series To Reportedly Feature LEO Satellite Communication Connectivity.
Also, 12.1 per cent cited general design and hardware and 10.4 per cent said that "intrusive" scanning for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was the main reason for not switching, the report said.

Until today, it was widely expected that the Apple Watch Series 7 would make its debut at the same time as the iPhone 13 lineup. Now, as Apple’s long-rumored September event approaches, it appears that the Series 7 might be delayed due to production issues.
According to Nikkei Asia, the root of the problem is the Series 7's “complicated designs.” Supposedly, small-scale production began last week but the results were unsatisfactory because the design is “significantly different” from previous versions and there were issues assembling electronic modules, components, and displays. The delay was also corroborated by a Bloomberg report, which cited an anonymous source close to the matter.
Rumors about the Series 7 have been thin compared to previous years, but one thing that’s been consistent is that the Apple Watch is getting a redesign. So far, we’ve seen some renders of a flat-edged watch that looks like a mini iPhone. Another recent rumor is that the size of screens are increasing, from 40mm and 44mm to 41mm and 45mm.
But Nikkei claims it’s not necessarily the exterior design causing issues—though the bigger screens ultimately do play a part. The report also says that new features, such as blood pressure monitoring, have required Apple to reconfigure the watch’s internal design. (Blood pressure monitoring is also a fairly new rumor, as it had long been speculated Apple was working on blood glucose monitoring instead.) Or put simply, it needs to cram more components into a watch that’s not that much bigger than its predecessor. This is what’s reportedly causing production issues, a problem that’s only been exacerbated by the pandemic. Specifically, Nikkei says the inability for Apple to work with its suppliers in person to verify specifications means the company is only coming across design challenges once test production starts.
It’s almost certain that we’ll have multiple Apple events again this fall. But up until now, it was thought there might only be two events. While the iPad Mini, Apple Watch Series 7, and AirPods 3 were thought to launch alongside the iPhone 13 lineup in September, the new M1X MacBooks and Mac Mini are expected to debut later in November. But now it looks like the Apple Watch could potentially launch at a separate event, much like it did for the Series 6 and Apple Watch SE last year. It’s also possible that Apple could announce the Series 7 in September, but won’t ship until much later.
Honestly, this is nearly impossible to predict because that’ll depend on when the Series 7 enters mass production. And we can’t know when Series 7 enters mass production until its test production results are satisfactory. Basically, it all boils down to how fast Apple can fix these production snags. The rest of us will just have to wait until September to see how it all pans out.
Apple is heavily speculated to launch the iPhone 13 next month. Now, a new research note from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that the iPhone 13 series could come with Lower Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication connectivity that will allow users to make calls and send messages without requiring cellular coverage. Kuo, in his research note to investors, said that the iPhone 13 series may have hardware ready to support communication via LEO satellites in areas where standard 4G and 5G coverage isn’t available. Kuo has hinted that the iPhone 13 smartphones may come with a custom chip that supports new communication experience. Apple is reportedly working with Globalstar that operates a low LEO satellite constellation for low-speed data communication and satellite phone.
Kuo, in his note said that the iPhone 13 models will allow users to make voice calls and send text messages without requiring a 4G or 5G connection, if enabled with relevant software features. iPhone 13 series is said to come with a customised Qualcomm X60 chip to support communication via LEO satellites. Kuo says that iPhone 13 users will be able to communicate with no additional contracts or payments required. Network operators, however, may need to work with Globalstar to enable LEO satellite communication. Kuo also predicted that Apple may expand the LEO satellite communications beyond the iPhone 13 lineup and would provide its experience on the highly anticipated mixed reality headset, Apple car, and other IoT devices in the future.
Apart from Kuo, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also came out with a report that says that Apple’s push to bring satellite capabilities to the iPhone will be focused on emergency situations. Gurman, in his report, said that Apple is developing at least two related emergency features that will rely on satellite networks. Gurman quoted an anonymous source as saying that while the iPhone 13 may have hardware to support these satellite features, they are likely to be added next year.
The first feature, which may be dubbed Emergency Message via Satellite, will let users text emergency services and contacts over a satellite network when there’s no cell coverage available. This will be integrated into the Messages app as a third protocol, alongside SMS and iMessage. The report says that it will appear with gray message bubbles instead of green or blue.
The second feature, according to the report, is focused on letting users report a crisis. Here, the iPhone will ask users what kind of emergency they are in, and if it involves a car, boat, plane, or fire. The system is also able to take more specific information, such as a person falling overboard or a ship sinking, the Bloomberg report said.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series soon, and plenty of details about the new-gen phone have surfaced online in the form of rumours and leaks. The latest report from MacRumors suggests the upcoming iPhones will come with LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite connectivity for users to be able to make calls or send messages in emergency situations where they find themselves with no network coverage.
iPhone 13 could let users make calls without a network
Popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in a note to investors, has suggested Apple will include the technology in the 2021 iPhones. The new-gen phone is said to come with hardware and software for easy connectivity with LEO satellites. With this, users will be able to send a message or call someone even when no 4G or 5G network is available.

The iPhone 13 is expected to come with a customized Qualcomm X60 baseband chip for support with satellite communications. Apple is most likely to bring on board Globalstar for this as its LEO satellite communication service provider. That said, SpaceX's Starlink is a popular provider of the same service, too.
It is suggested that for Apple to provide this functionality to users, each network operator may collaborate with Globalstar. This would allow users to directly get in touch with Globalstar's satellite communication service via their network operator without having to pay any extra charges.
As for the new iPhone 13 line up, the company is expected to launch four models: the iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. All devices are expected to come with improved cameras, bigger batteries, a smaller notch, improved Face ID, an A15 Bionic chip, iOS 15 and more. The Pro models are also expected to get a ProMotion 120Hz display and a few new camera features, among other things.
The iPhone 13 series is expected to launch next month.

The telecom operator hasn’t changed the Rs 2,599 prepaid plan. Users will be able to use 2GB of data per day, which means that customers will get a total of 740GB of data. There is also a Rs 666 Jio recharge plan, which includes 2GB daily data, voice calls and SMS. It comes with a validity period of 56 days.
Jio is also now offering a Rs 888 prepaid plan, which offers its customers 2GB of daily high-speed data. The plan comes bundled with unlimited calling benefits, 100 complimentary SMS per day. The plan comes with a validity of three months. Just like the Rs 499 plan, it also comes with a Disney+ Hotstar subscription for a year.

The Rs 499 Disney+ Hotstar plan is the new basic “Mobile” only yearly plan. It only supports one device at a time, stereo audio quality and 720p video quality.

Microsoft will start rolling out Windows 11 from October 5. But you will need to wait to get support for Android apps-- considered as one of the biggest features in Windows 11. As per Aaron Woodman, general manager of Windows marketing, Microsoft will preview Android app support in the coming months and access will be restricted to Windows Insiders only.
“We look forward to continuing our journey to bring Android apps to Windows 11 and the Microsoft Store through our collaboration with Amazon and Intel; this will start with a preview for Windows Insiders over the coming months,” said Woodman in an official blog post.
Windows 11 was announced earlier and was only available to select users who were a part of the Windows Insider program. On October 5, all eligible PCs will get Windows 11 update for free while laptops preloaded with Windows 11 will be also available.
When Microsoft launched Windows 11 earlier, it talked a lot about supporting Android apps. The company showcased app compatibility by running a live instance of TikTok on stage. Now, running Android apps on Windows 11 PCs may sound cool but in reality it may not be that exciting. The reason is simple. Just because Windows 11 will support certain apps doesn’t mean you will get access to the entire range of Android apps hosted by Google on the Google Play store. In fact, Google has nothing to do with Windows 11’s Android app compatibility.
For Windows 11, Microsoft has partnered with Amazon. This will enable Windows 11 users to access Android apps through the Amazon App store. While it’s a big step for Microsoft to provide Android app support for the first time on PC it will not be something that will blow you away. Using the Amazon App store for Android apps on Windows 11 PCs means that you will not have access to the entire range of popular Android apps. So, there are chances that your favourite Android apps and games may not be available on Windows 11 PC. Also, there is no clarity yet as to what kind of apps and how many apps will be available on Microsoft’s new app store for Windows 11.
Apple is all set to launch the much-awaited iPhone 13 in September and now a new device believed to be the iPhone 13 has appeared on a comedy series on Apple TV+ called "Ted Lasso". Episode six of the second season of the series titled "The Signal" has disclosed a notchless iPhone in two different scenes.
The phone did have the custom iPhone UI but the notch was lacking. In addition, the rear design was spotted revealing a dual-camera setup. Apple introduced the notch in the 2017 iPhone X which houses components for Face ID and the selfie camera.
According to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, the new iPhones will have a smaller notch above the display, but will otherwise have a similar outward design as iPhone 12 models.
The devices will be powered by Apple's next-generation A15 chip manufactured based on TSMC's 5nm+ process. All four iPhones will be equipped with OLED displays, while the two Pro models will also feature a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother content, the report added.
In addition, Weinbach had recently claimed that the 2021 iPhones will feature stronger MagSafe magnets, and now, he said this could be a reason behind the increased coil size.
He also speculates that the increased coil size could be used for reverse wireless charging, which would enable users to charge wireless charging compatible devices, such as AirPods, by placing them on the back of the iPhone.

A separate photo that is doing rounds on the internet shows the iPhone with dual rear cameras and flat edges, indicating it to be the regular iPhone 13.
The iPhone 13 has been a part of the rumour mill for quite some time but we are yet to receive official information from Apple. It appears the company has now seemingly teased its next-generation smartphone in one of its Apple TV+ Oringals, Ted Lasso. In the sixth episode, titled ‘The Signal’ of season two, fans have spotted an iPhone on the bed without a notch that has been present since iPhone X. Many are speculating it to be the iPhone 13 that is at least said to feature a smaller notch. It could also be a prototype smartphone, therefore readers must take the information with a pinch of salt.
A separate photo that is doing rounds on the internet shows the iPhone with dual rear cameras and flat edges, indicating it to be the regular iPhone 13. However, this contradicts older reports that claimed the dual rear cameras would be placed diagonally to each other instead of stacked vertically. It is also possible that the phone in question is the regular iPhone 12, as Ted Lasso’s team could have added an artificial overlay onto digital displays in post-production. It is not uncommon for editing teams to add an overlay on the display of phones and TVs to make their contents clearer for viewers to see – in this case, an iOS Lock Screen.
Meanwhile, Apple will reportedly launch iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max on September 14. As mentioned, the notch on the front is also said to shrink on all iPhone 13 models; however, only Pro variants will reportedly support a 120Hz refresh rate, which already features on iPad Pro (2020 and 2021) models as “ProMotion display." A recent report claimed that iPhone 13 series would include a new face unlock tech that would work even while wearing masks or foggy glasses. Readers can check out the full iPhone 13 series round-up here.
Reliance Jio on Tuesday updated its prepaid recharge portfolio with one-year of Disney+ Hotstar Mobile service that Disney+ Hotstar announced last month. The new Jio prepaid plans come at the existing price band between Rs. 499 and Rs. 2,599. The plans have a range of validity options and include high-speed data access as well as voice and SMS message benefits. Jio also included a Rs. 549 data add-on pack that bundles the Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription alongside offering 1.5GB high-speed data access.
Jio prepaid recharge plans with Disney+ Hotstar Mobile
The new Jio prepaid recharge plans with Disney+ Hotstar Mobile start at Rs. 499 that brings 3GB of high-speed data access on a daily basis, along with “unlimited” voice calling and SMS message benefits for 28 days. It is essentially an upgrade to the existing Rs. 499 plan that offered 1.5GB of daily high-speed data benefit along with voice calls and SMS benefits for 56 days.
After the Rs. 499 plan, Jio has the Rs. 666 prepaid recharge plan with 2GB daily high-speed data access as well as unlimited voice and SMS message benefits for 56 days. Customers are also offered with the Rs. 888 prepaid recharge plan that brings 2GB daily high-speed data benefit along with unlimited voice calling and SMS messages for 84 days. The last plan in the series is the Rs. 2,599 that carries 2GB high-speed data on a daily basis, coupled with unlimited voice calling and SMS message benefits for 365 days validity. Jio earlier offered the Rs. 2,599 prepaid plan with 2GB daily high-speed data and 10GB additional data for 365 days.
Customers who already have an active plan in place are provided with the Rs. 549 data add-on pack that brings 1.5GB of additional high-speed data for 56 days.
Along with the new prepaid plans as well as the data add-on voucher, Jio is offering one-year of Disney+ Hotstar Mobile access that is normally available at an annual subscription of Rs. 499. The telco said that the OTT service will bring access to international content in English language including Disney+ originals, TV shows from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, HBO, FX, and Showtime, among others.

Till now, Cupertino has never used entertainment shows as a medium to reveal anything about its upcoming devices. (Image: Apple TV+/Twitter/Paul Bailey)
iPhone 13: Though nothing is officially confirmed, the launch of the new phone by Apple, dubbed iPhone 13, is likely to be held soon, and now, just days before the expected confirmation of the new lineup, we have seemingly been given a glimpse of the next-gen phone that Cupertino could announce. In the latest episode of comedy series Ted Lasso on Apple TV+, a next-gen phone consisting of a notchless design has been seen, and it is believed to be the iPhone 13. The basis for this speculation is the fact that Ted Lasso cast often uses various Apple products in the series.
However, this marks the first time that something odd about the products used has been noticed, leaving many viewers with the view that it could possibly not be anything other than the new iPhone. So far, as per the rumour mill, the speculation has been that the new iPhone lineup would have a smaller notch design.
The notchless iPhone – seemingly – was spotted in the episode titled “The Signal”, which is the sixth episode of the second season of the show. Post this, some users shared screenshots of the phone on Twitter. During the episode, the phone seemed to have no notches, while having rounded corners. Moreover, the phone’s interface seemed to be that of the iPhone and it had the default lockscreen of iOS 14, further strengthening users’ speculation.
Till now, Cupertino has never used entertainment shows as a medium to reveal anything about its upcoming devices, even though it is possible that the company could use the main characters of the show for promotion of its flagship product.
What is more out of character in this scenario is the fact that Apple always maintains secrecy around its upcoming devices, much in contrast to what Google and Samsung do. Well, Cupertino does have a flair for dramatics and it makes sense that it would keep things under the covers to do a big reveal at an event while keeping everyone on their toes for months. This makes it hard to believe that Apple would let such a reveal be carried out through a series. It is likely that this was caused by editing errors on the show.
Another aspect is that Ted Lasso is among the shows on Apple TV+ that uses computer-generated imagery or CGI to a large extent, which means that the phone could be a result of CGI editing. This could make sense since, as mentioned before, Apple likes to make things dramatic, and with leaks and rumours doing rounds for months now (which Apple does not like), the editing could have been done to throw users off the trail and then reveal a phone that looks different than anticipated.
So far, the rumour mill has only indicated towards smaller notches on the new iPhone lineup, and not a completely notchless experience.
The software giant also confirmed that older PCs running with processors that do not meet the new OS’ hardware requirements, can still be upgraded to Windows 11, according to a report.
Microsoft has provided an update on Windows 11 minimum system requirements, which includes a few more processors that the company says would be compatible with its latest operating system (OS) announced in June.

The software giant has added certain Intel 7th generation processors, including Intel Core X-series, Xeon W-series and Intel Core 7820HQ to the list of compatible 64-bit processors. In case of the Core 7820HQ processor, “only select devices that shipped with modern drivers based on Declarative, Componentised, Hardware Support Apps (DCH) design principles, including Surface Studio 2,” would be compatible, according to the company.
Moreover, the firm has maintained the minimum system requirements it had originally announced in June. This includes 4GB of memory, 64GB of storage, UEFI secure boot, graphics requirements and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0.
Microsoft also tested its new OS on devices running on AMD Zen 1. “After carefully analysing the first generation of AMD Zen processors in partnership with AMD, together we concluded that there are no additions to the supported CPU list,” it said in a blog post.
According to the software firm, devices running on Intel 8th generation processors (or later) and AMD Zen 2, as well as Qualcomm 7 and 8 Series, would be compatible with Windows 11.
After the latest round of update on Windows 11 hardware requirements, Microsoft has confirmed that older PCs running with processors that do not meet the new OS’ requirements, can still be upgraded to Windows 11, according to a report by The Verge. The process, however, will be a little different, as it won’t be a simple Windows update from Windows 10 to Windows 11. And users will be required to download Windows 11 ISO file and install it manually.
This method of circumventing the hardware requirements is meant for businesses to try Windows 11 and should be performed at their own risk, the report noted and added that Microsoft doesn’t recommend this approach to consumers. Subsequently, the Windows maker clarified that the PCs upgraded to its new OS through this method may not be ‘entitled’ to receive Windows Updates, like security or driver updates, according to The Verge.
Furthermore, the Redmond-based company released an updated preview version of the PC Health Check app to Windows Insiders. It “expands the eligibility check functionality with more complete and improved messaging on eligibility and links to relevant support articles that include potential remediation steps”, Microsoft said. The app will be re-released to Windows users in the coming weeks after it caused some confusion regarding Windows 11 eligibility, which was acknowledged by the company.

With this revision, Reliance Jio will now offer the entire suite of content that is on offer with Disney+ Hotstar. The latter gave access to live sports, as well as Hotstar Specials (original programming), movies and TV shows. With the new plans, users will get access to the platform’s entire English language content including Disney+ originals, Disney TV shows, as well as international content from publishing houses such as Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, HBO, FX, Showtime and more. However, users will only be able to watch their content on mobile devices, and not across any platforms that they could do previously.

iPhone 13 launch is expected to be just around the corner. But days ahead of its formal confirmation, a next-generation iPhone with a notchless design ostensibly appeared in the latest episode of Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso. It is, of course, common to see the cast of Ted Lasso using Apple products in different episodes. However, this was the first time when viewers found something odd that many have considered as none other than the iPhone 13. The rumour mill has so far speculated the new iPhone lineup with a smaller notch design, though.
Apple TV+ viewers spotted the notchless iPhone in episode six of the second season of Ted Lasso, which is titled “The Signal.” Some viewers have taken to Twitter to share the screenshots showing the all-new iPhone with the notchless design. This is speculated to be the iPhone 13 by a few spectators.
At a few points during the 35-minute episode, the iPhone appears on the screen with rounded corners and no notch. It is also seen to have the same interface with the default lockscreen that Apple offered on iOS 14.
So far, Apple has not used any entertainment shows to divulge its upcoming hardware. The company may, however, promote its flagship products through the main characters of popular series including Ted Lasso that earned 20 Emmy nominations in July.
Apple is also known for maintaining the secrecy of its new products by not revealing any of their key features — unlike competitors including Google and Samsung. Therefore, it is likely that the notchless design might just be due to some editing errors. It is also important to mention that Ted Lasso is one of the titles on Apple TV+ that uses computer-generated imagery (CGI) to a large extent. So, chances are high that the notchless design may just be due to some CGI inputs.
That said, the iPhone 13 launch is speculated to take place later this month — as early as September 14. We may, thus, have to wait for a few more days to get a clear picture of what Apple has for its iPhone consumers in 2021.
WhatsApp lets you hide your last seen and blue ticks on the app to give you some privacy. In case you haven’t yet noticed these features, then you can try them now. Both the features are listed in the privacy section of the messaging app.
Both the features are available as an option because there are users who don’t want others to know when they read the message. Here’s how you can enable or disable last seen and blue ticks.
How to hide Last seen on WhatsApp
Step 1: If you want to hide your last seen, then just open the WhatsApp app and head to the Settings section.
Step 2: Now head to the Account section and tap on Privacy. It should be noted that whatever settings you save will apply to both the mobile and web version of the messaging app.
Step 3: Now, tap on the Last Seen option and change the Setting to “Nobody.”
Note: You get three options, including “Everyone” “My Contacts” and “Nobody”. The first one basically means that people who have your WhatsApp number will be able to see your last seen. The second option means that only your contacts will be able to check your last seen on WhatsApp. If you enable the “Nobody” option, then no one will be able to see your WhatsApp last seen. You can select any last seen option any time you want.

Beginning today, One UI 3.1.1 is no longer exclusive to the latest Samsung foldable phones — the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. The company is now rolling out the One UI 3.1.1 firmware update to every one of its previously-released foldable devices, including the original Galaxy Fold.
Samsung designed One UI 3.1.1 to improve the user experience for foldable device owners with additions like Drag & Split, Natural Window Switching, better Multi-Active Window, Cover Screen Mirroring, and more.
We previously detailed these One UI 3.1.1 characteristics in our Galaxy Z Fold 3 review and our story detailing its best features. They have certainly elevated the user experience to new heights, and thankfully, every foldable device enthusiast should now benefit from these changes, more or less, depending on the model they own.
Which One UI 3.1.1 features are coming to which foldable phones?
The best features in One UI 3.1.1 are Drag & Split, Multi-Active Window and Natural Window Switching, Auto Rotate Apps, Customized Aspect Ratios, Flex Mode Panel, Taskbar, and Cover Screen Mirroring.
Drag & Split lets you open a URL in split-screen mode while browsing the web without having to reopen another browser instance. It works by dragging and dropping the desired link to the edge of the screen.
Multi-Active Window and Natural Window Switching now provide a better experience with options to readjust the height and width of opened apps when using three app split-screen mode.
Rotate All Apps allows users to enable landscape orientation for apps that natively work only in portrait mode.
Custom Aspect Ratio for Apps lets you choose a different aspect ratio for apps that don’t fill the whole screen. Options include full screen, 16:9, 4:3, and App default.
App Split View enables a more tablet-like UI for the Z Fold series, or more specifically for various apps. Now, this feature works with apps that don’t natively support it.
Similarly, Flex Mode Panel adds Flex Mode compatibility to apps that don’t offer native support.
The Taskbar is a fine addition to the Galaxy Z Fold series. It’s somewhat reminiscent of the original Edge Screen for the Galaxy Note Edge. It’s a persistent taskbar containing your favorite apps. It makes for much easier app switching.
Cover Screen Mirroring lets you easily transfer — or mirror — the layout of your cover screen home screen to the main foldable display. It lets users have a more unified UI design across both home screens without having to do all the work manually.
Most of these features were designed for the book-like form factor, which means they won’t be available for the Z Flip series. The clamshell foldable phones will have access to Flex Mode Panel and Drag & Split, but not much else. Still, these additions are appreciated.
As for the Galaxy Fold series, both the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the original Galaxy Fold will benefit from most of these new additions in One UI 3.1.1. In fact, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will take advantage of every one of these new features, while the original Galaxy Fold will be missing out on two: Cover Screen Mirroring and Flex Mode Panel.
The One UI 3.1.1 update for these foldables is already rolling out in the US and will also be reaching other markets starting today. As always, you should be able to download it from your phone’s Settings » Software update menu, but you can also skip the wait and download new updates from our firmware database.
