Samsung may have flooded the market with its foldables and even cut prices the second time around, but that has reportedly not stopped Apple from eyeing its own foldables. Apple for long has been said to be working on a foldable display smartphone. And while the company hasn’t commented on the matter till date, reports over the years have hinted towards the design that Apple’s foldable display smartphone dubbed as the 'iPhone Flip' is expected to feature. But none of them have been able to give Apple’s foldable display smartphone a face, so to speak. That has changed now, but remember, nothing official about it.
Now, Concepts iPhone has shared a video on YouTube that gives us a holistic glimpse of how Apple’s foldable display smartphone or 'iPhone Flip' may look like when it is launched in the market. The video shared by Concepts iPhone shows the 'iPhone Flip' sporting a clamshell design much like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone that was launched last month. With its stainless steel curved-edged chassis and metallic body, the so-called iPhone Flip as shown in the video looks quite similar to the iPhone 12 Pro that was launched last year, except that this smartphone folds in the middle. The overall design, including the placement of the antenna line, the lightning port, the earpiece, the speakers, the power and volume control buttons and even the mute button remain exactly the same.

One difference that the purported 'iPhone Flip' has, compared with the existing iPhone models is the size of the notch. Apple introduced the display with the launch of the iPhone X back in 2017. Since then, the size of the notch has remained the same and it has occupied the better part of the display’s top area. Now, word is that Apple could shrink the size of the notch in iPhone 13 and if reports are to be believed in case of its iPhone Flip as well.
Furthermore, the report says that Apple’s foldable display iPhone could come with a 120Hz Pro Motion Liquid Retina XDR display. It could be powered by the company’s M1 chipset -- something that the company has started using in its iPad Pro tablets as well. Furthermore, the video says that Apple’s foldable display iPhone could come with two biometric-based security features, that is, Face ID, which is available on all iPhones these days and Touch ID. However, unlike older iPhone models wherein Touch ID was built into the device’s home screen button, Touch ID will be available as a built-in fingerprint sensor feature -- something that iPhone 13 is likely to come with owing to the fact that masks have made using Face ID difficult, if not impossible.
Furthermore, the report even goes on to list colours. It says that the 'iPhone Flip' will come with air charging technology and that it will be available in Silver, Rose Gold, Tangerine, and Product RED colour variants.
That said, Apple hasn’t officially shared its plans of launching a foldable display smartphone yet. So, it remains to be seen what features and design language the foldable iPhone will actually follow when it is launched.
