The smartphone market is about to get flocked with a plethora of new devices. We say that because it’s September, and this is when we get to see some of the most exciting offerings of the year. So, get ready as the smartphone battle is about to get fierce, with almost every other major brand gearing up for the launch this season.
The smartphone launches will begin in the first week itself with the arrival of Redmi 10 Prime. This should be followed by the most affordable 4G offering in the country, Jio Phone Next. Just after that, we expect to see two big flagship launches, including the Pixel 6 and the iPhone 13. iPhone 13 series
Apple’s next-gen iPhone 13 series is expected to arrive during the September 14 event. While the iPhone 12 series launch got delayed to October, that shouldn’t be the case with upcoming iPhones. Like last year, Apple is supposed to bring four iPhone 13 models, including - iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The brand is expected to trim down the notch substantially on the upcoming models. In addition to that, smartphones are expected to ship with larger batteries. The camera system is also reported to get an upgrade with improved ultra-wide shooters and the introduction of LiDAR sensors to all the models.
JioPhone Next
The highly awaited JioPhone Next is slated to arrive on September 10. It is being touted as the most affordable 4G smartphone in the country. JioPhone Next which is also the brand’s first smartphone, is built in collaboration with Google. Leaks suggest that the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch HD display. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 215 chipset and paired with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of onboard storage. The smartphone is tipped to get a single 13-megapixel rear sensor, whereas an 8-megapixel shooter is on the front. A 2500mAh may power the JioPone Next. As far as the pricing is concerned, JioPhone Next could be priced as low as Rs 3499.
Redmi 10 Prime
Redmi 10 Prime is the next affordable offering on this list. The smartphone has been confirmed to launch on September 3. While the device is coming with a new name in the country, it is supposed to be a rebadged Redmi 10. The smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, an adaptive refresh rate display and a bigger battery. Although other specifications have been kept under wraps, we are aware of it as Redmi 10 has been launched globally. The smartphone features a 6.5-inch display with a 90Hz scalable refresh rate. It is powered by Helio G88 SoC and paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Redmi 10 gets a 50-megapixel quad rear camera setup and an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies in the camera department. A 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging powers this device.
Pixel 6 series
The Pixel 6 series is one of the biggest launches that’s expected to take place this month. It will have two smartphones- the standard Pixel 6 and a larger Pixel 6 Pro. Both these smartphones will be the first to feature Google’s in-house Tensor chip. This chipset will bring a host of AI features and a considerable upgrade to the camera system. But that’s not the only change on the Pixel 6 series. The upcoming smartphones will come in a fresh new design, get new camera sensors, bigger batteries and higher refresh rate displays. Vivo X70 series
The Vivo X70 series is all set to take over the current-gen X60 lineup on September 9. Recently, official renders of the flagship Vivo X70 Pro+ were showcased. The smartphone features a distinct rear panel like the Mi 11 Ultra but doesn’t get a secondary display. The other two smartphones in the lineup are supposed to come in similar looking designs. As per the leaks, the Vivo X70 Pro+ will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 888 chipset and 65W fast charging. Whereas the Vivo X70 and the Vivo X70 Pro may ship with Exynos 1080 or Dimensity 1200 chipsets. In terms of cameras, the Vivo X70 Pro+ and X70 Pro will get quad rear cameras, whereas the vanilla Vivo X70 will sport a triple camera system.
Realme Narzo 50A
The Realme Narzo 50A has surpassed multiple certification websites, including India’s BIS. Which clearly suggests that the smartphone is set to arrive soon. Recently some key specifications and the design of Realme Narzo 50A were revealed. The device appeared to feature a unique rear panel with the fingerprint scanner housed in the camera module itself. It is tipped to feature a 13-megapixel rear sensor and an 8-megapixel shooter. The Narzo 50A is likely a follow up to the affordable Narzo 30A that shipped with a 6.5-inch display, Helio G85 chipset and a 6000mAh battery.
Xiaomi Mi 11T series
Xiaomi Mi 11T and Mi 11T Pro are expected to join the Mi 11 series soon. Fresh renders suggest that both these smartphones will feature a similar looking design. It also hints towards the inclusion of 108-megapixel triple rear cameras. Furthermore, the Mi 11T and Mi 11T Pro are supposed to be flagship offerings with high-end hardware. While the standard Mi 11T is tipped to come with a Dimesnity 1200 SoC, the top-end Mi 11T Pro may get a Snapdragon 888 chipset. Besides this, the Mi 11T Pro is said to ship with a 120Hz AMOLED panel and a 5000mAh battery with up to 120W fast charging.
OnePlus 9RT
The OnePlus 9RT, supposed to be exclusive to Indian and Chinese markets, has been spotted in the BIS listings. So, it’s possible that OnePlus may launch this device in September itself. Leaks suggest that the device could sport a 6.55-inch Samsung E3 full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Further, it may be powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset and paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. In terms of optics, the OnePlus 9RT is tipped to get a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. Finally, it may ship with a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
