Phones launching in September 2021: September is always a busy month for smartphone releases, and we are expecting several smartphones to be released this month. September is also the month when the new iPhones are released, so it becomes a special month for iOS users. On the other side of the spectrum, we also expect the new Pixel flagships from Google to be released this month. So, whether you are waiting for the next iPhone or the next Pixel phone, this is the month we expect those devices to hit the market. There’s also something for entry-level smartphone users with the Jio Phone Next launch. Here are all the upcoming phones in September 2021.

Upcoming phones in September 2021

1. iPhone 13 series

If there’s one company that releases their latest smartphone like clockwork in September, it’s Apple. That means we are pretty sure that iPhone 13 series will release this month. Talking about the phones themselves, we expect four new iPhones to be released. Like last year, there will be a mini and regular model for iPhone 13 and a regular and max model for the iPhone 13 Pro. All four devices will be powered by Apple’s next-generation A15 chip manufactured based on TSMC’s 5nm production process. The sizes of all four iPhones are to be the same. New reports suggest that the iPhone 13 series will be a tad costlier than the iPhone 12 series, owing to the rising cost of TSMC’s production process.

2. Mi 11T and 11T Pro

Xiaomi Mi 11T and 11T Pro are expected to launch on September 15th, 2021. Leaked renders of the phones have given us a good idea about the design of these smartphones. The renders show a triple-camera module at the back, housed in a slightly raised rectangular island. We also see the bezel-less front with a punch-hole display in the middle. As for the colours, the renders along with a listing on UK retailer has revealed that the phones will be available in three colours, namely Meteorite Gray, Celestial Blue, and Moonlight White. Both the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro will be available in 8GB+128GB and 8GB 256GB variants.

3. Vivo X70 series

The Vivo X70 series has a firm release date, with the devices launching in China on September 7th. The Vivo X70 series is said to include three different smartphones, including the Vivo X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro+. We also have a fair bit of idea about the design of these smartphones as Vivo has been teasing the premium X70 Pro+ through their social media channels. The phones look quite similar to the leaked renders that we saw last week. The teaser images reveal a lot about the device, and it seems cameras are going to be a big selling point for it. The X70 Pro+ has Zeiss optics on the back, and there’s also a mention of T*, a special type of lens coating that eliminates the glare from stray light. We don’t have any clarity about the specs, but leaks suggest that the regular X70 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor and bring an FHD+ display. There’s also no date for the India release of these devices.

4. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE turned out to be quite a popular device, and if rumours are to be believed, its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will hit the Indian market this September. We know how the device looks thanks to an “accidental” Instagram post from Samsung. The now-deleted post showed a triple camera set-up at the back, with the camera module sporting the same finish as the rest of the body. According to leaked specifications, the phone will sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is tipped to release on September 8th.

5. Google Pixel 6

Last month, Google took the covers of its upcoming flagship Pixel device, the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro, and it impressed us a lot. While Google didn’t tell us the raw specs of the device, it did showcase how the device looks and revealed the major features that we can expect from it. The phone brings a radical new design, which quite frankly, I like. There’s also the new Tensor SoC which will improve Pixel’s ML and AI capabilities. The camera system has finally been upgraded. The regular Pixel 6 will bring a dual-camera system comprising of a wide-angle main sensor and an ultra-wide sensor. The Pixel 6 Pro will add a third 4X optical-zoom folded telephoto lens. As per leaks, the phones will come with 33W fast charging and will launch on September 13th. That said, the pre-orders will start on October 19th, with sales kicking off on October 28th.

6. OnePlus 9 RT

OnPlus’s latest smartphone, the OnePlus 9 RT is also tipped to launch this September. The phone was recently spotted on the BIS certification website, which shows that the company is ready to launch the device in India. The phone is supposed to bring incremental upgrades over the OnePlus 9R, which was released earlier this year. As per reports, the OnePlus 9 RT will be an India and China release only. While we are not sure about the specs, leaks suggest that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 870 and boast of a 120Hz display panel. It is also said to feature the same 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor that we have seen on the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus Nord 2. We don’t have any details on the pricing as of yet.

7. Redmi Note 10 Lite

It seems that Xiaomi is adding a new device to its Note 10 lineup, that said, if we believe the leaks, there’s nothing to be excited about. As per leaks, the device will be just a re-branded version of Redmi Note 9 Pro. The device bears the codename “Curtana” which is the same codename that the Note 9 Pro in India and Note 9S carried in other markets. If the speculations hold, the Redmi Note 10 Lite will come with Snapdragon 720G processor, a 6.67″ FHD+ DotDisplay with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and a 48MP quad-camera set-up.

8. Realme Narzo 50A

Realme is also gearing up to release its Realme Narzo 50A this month. The device was spotted in BIS certification a week back, pointing to the imminent release of the device. We also know a lot about this device thanks to leaked press renders and camera specs. In the renders, we can see the phone sporting a teardrop notch at the front and a triple camera sensor at the back along with a headphone jack and USB-C charging port at the bottom. We also know that the Narzo 50A will offer a 13MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The front camera will be an 8MP sensor. As for pricing, this is going to be a budget device so expect it to cost below Rs 10,000.

9. Samsung Galaxy M52

Samsung is on a roll with the company releasing two to three smartphones every month. As per leaks, Samsung is planning to release the Samsung Galaxy M52 in September. We already know pretty much everything about this device thanks to the leaks, so let’s see what Samsung has in store for us. The Samsung Galaxy M52will come with Snapdragon 778G chipset, 64MP camera, and a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, as we detailed in our exclusive leak coverage. The phone will have a triple camera sensor at the back, comprising of a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. The phone will launch in India by the end of September.

Jio Phone Next

10. Jio Phone Next

Reliance is set to release its ultra-budget smartphone, “Jio Phone Next”, on September 10th. If we believe the rumours and leaks, the phone will cost as low as Rs 3,499. Powered by the Qualcomm 215 SoC, the phone will come with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It’s also said to sport a 5.5-inch HD+ display and a 13MP camera. As per reports, Reliance has also partnered with five banks to finance the sale of the Jio Phone Next, so it’s affordable to even more customers. The company is planning to sell more than 5 crores Jio Phone Next units in the next six months.

11. OPPO F19s

The final smartphone on the list that we think will release in September is the OPPO F19s. While we don’t know much about this device, we do know that it will be a special edition device and might be priced under Rs 20,000. The phone might borrow its specs from the OPPO F19 or even the pricier F19 Pro and F19 Pro+. But that’s about all the information that we have on the upcoming OPPO F19s.
