Reliance Jio has finally unveiled the price of the most-anticipated smartphone. Reliance and Google had jointly announced the JioPhone but due to the chip shortage, the smartphone did not go on sale immediately. Now the company has revealed that the smartphone will go on sale on Diwali. Reliance has also announced attractive payments plans for the JioPhone Next, but before you register for the JioPhone, there are some options from Xiaomi, Realme you should consider.
Reliance Jio has launched the smartphone in India for Rs 6499. However, if you do wish to pay Rs 6499 upfront, you opt for the various EMI options available. You can pay Rs 1,999 upfront for the JioPhone Next and pay the rest amount as EMIs for 24 months as Rs 300 per month. If you want to reduce the time period a bit, you can pay Rs 350 per month for 18 months. Buyers will get 5GB+100min/month free with this payment option.
Similarly, there are large and extra large plans with free per day data and unlimited calls included. You can pay Rs 1999 upfront and pay Rs 450 per month for 24 months or Rs 500 per month for 18 months. In the extra large plan, you will have to pay Rs 500 per month for 24 months or Rs 550 for 18 months after paying the upfront amount of Rs 1,999. The XXL plan under which consumers will have to pay Rs 550 per month for 24 months or Rs 600 for 18 months after paying the upfront amount of Rs 1,999.
The JioPhone Next is priced at Rs 6499. The smartphone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with an anti-fingerprint coating. JioPhone Next is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and comes with 32GB of storage. The storage can be expanded using a microSD card. In terms of battery, the smartphone houses a 3500mAh battery. The device includes various connectivity options for connectivity, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, audio jack, and micro-USB.
However, there are other options available in Xiaomi, Realme that you should consider.
The Redmi 9A is available in India for Rs 6799. The smartphone features a bigger 6.53-inch HD+ display. It is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Just like the JioPhone Next, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel camera on the rear. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies whereas the JioPhone Next features an 8-megapixel camera for selfies. The Redmi 9A houses a 5000mAh battery whereas the JioPhone Next comes with a 3500mAh battery.
Similarly, you could also get the Realme C11 at Rs 6699. It features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, it is powered by a 1.5Ghz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 2GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of storage. In terms of camera, the smartphone features a dual-camera setup on the rear which includes 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies.
