Krafton says Battlegrounds Mobile India login error fixed - The Indian Express

Developer Krafton has confirmed that the login error that users faced with Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been fixed. The users started experiencing problems in logging in from the night of December 29, though the issue did not impact all players. Krafton did not reveal what percentage of players were impacted by the problem, though it had acknowledged this in a post on the website.

They reported that players facing this login issue are getting an error stating “Server authentication error. Login failed.” Players are being asked to login in, now that the issue has been fixed. However, the company has not exactly given details on what caused the problem. Further, this was not a server-wide problem.

In related news, Krafton had earlier announced that it will ban devices by players who are cheating in the game.  The device ban is applicable starting December 24. The company had earlier announced account bans for those who were using hacking in-game features. But since these players could easily create another account and use those same tactics, it has decided to extend to device bans, which are much harder to circumvent, unless of course, one decided to buy a new device. That might not be possible for every use.

As we noted earlier, many are using cheating tools such as Aimbot, speed hacks and X Ray vision to manipulate different matches and gain an advantage over the players who are playing the game in a fair manner. Many of these hacks are available on platforms such as Twitter, and also sold via channels on Telegram.

In November, the BGMI developer said that it removed 25 lakh accounts from the game for cheating as part of its crackdown against unfair players. K

Xbox-Owned Games Confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in 2022 - GameRant

Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service had a stellar year in 2021 with numerous high profile games making their debut through Game Pass. One of the ways that Microsoft makes Xbox Game Pass a must-have service for gamers on Xbox One and Xbox Series X is by releasing all of its own games as day one titles, meaning subscribers can check out the latest blockbusters without paying the usual asking price.

This paid off in a big way in 2021, as some of the biggest and most critically-acclaimed games of the year were Xbox-published titles that were released through Game Pass on day one. This includes the likes of Psychonauts 2, a platformer that earned widespread acclaim for its storytelling and art, as well as Forza Horizon 5, an open world racing game that stands out as the highest-rated new video game release of 2021 period.

RELATED: Xbox Game Pass Title Pigeon Simulator Shares a Development Update

And of course, one can't forget Halo Infinite, which helped cap off 2021 as easily the best year that Xbox Game Pass has seen to date. And while Microsoft has yet to reveal the full scope of its 2022 plans, we do already know of over 30 day one Xbox Game Pass games that will be available to subscribers as soon as they launch, including two titles that are Xbox-owned games.

Xbox Game Pass Games for 2022

Bethesda Starfield Box Art
  • The Anacrusis - January 13
  • Pupperazzi - January 20
  • Windjammers 2 - January 20
  • Shredders - February
  • Edge of Eternity - February 10
  • Total War: Warhammer 3 - February 17
  • Weird West - March 31
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - Spring
  • STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl - April 28
  • Midnight Fight Express - Summer
  • Redfall - Summer
  • Scorn - October
  • Starfield - November 11
  • A Plague Tale: Requiem - 2022
  • Atomic Heart - 2022
  • Bushiden - 2022
  • Chinatown Detective Agency - 2022
  • Crusader Kings 3 - 2022
  • Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising - 2022
  • Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery - 2022
  • Hello Neighbor 2 - 2022
  • Loot River - 2022
  • Nobody Saves The World - 2022
  • Party Animals - 2022
  • Pigeon Simulator - 2022
  • Replaced - 2022
  • Signalis - 2022
  • Slime Rancher 2 - 2022
  • Sniper Elite 5 - 2022
  • Somerville - 2022
  • Trek to Yomi - 2022

As it stands, there are only two Xbox-owned games that are confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2022 at the time of this writing, though that number will almost certainly grow in the near future. First up is Redfall, developed by Arkane Studios. Redfall is a co-op game about vampires, and since Arkane is best known for its single-player experiences, it will definitely be interesting to see how it stacks up when it comes to Xbox Game Pass in the summer of 2022.

Not enough of Redfall has been shown for fans to truly know what to expect from it, and the same goes for the other Xbox-owned game confirmed for Game Pass in 2022, Starfield. Bethesda is confident that the Starfield release date of November 11, 2022 will be met, though like Redfall, not much of the game has been shown off just yet. However, that should change in the months ahead.

Bethesda has not shown any Starfield gameplay footage, but it has offered a CGI trailer to set the tone of the story and has shown off plenty of concept art. The Starfield concept art tease an ambitious open world game with varied environments for players to explore, though the jury is still out on whether or not it will enthrall players like some of Bethesda's previous efforts have managed to do. There have been some bumps in the road, but Bethesda still has a pretty impressive track record and smart money is on Starfield living up to the hype.

starfield astronaut

Besides Redfall and Starfield, it's likely that another Bethesda-published, Xbox-owned game will hit Xbox Game Pass in 2022. Nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing, but it's almost certain that current PS5 console exclusive Deathloop will hit Xbox Game Pass before the year is out as a day one release.

And while there aren't many Xbox-owned games confirmed for release on Game Pass in 2022 just yet, there are other console exclusives that fans can look forward to next year. For example, co-op shooter The Anacrusis launches in early access on January 13 on Xbox Game Pass as an Xbox console exclusive, and first-person horror game Scorn will launch in October.

Microsoft likes to announce Xbox Game Pass games in two batches every month so fans know what's coming in the next couple weeks without much focus beyond that. Considering this, there are likely many other Xbox Game Pass games waiting in the wings, but subscribers will just have to wait to find out exactly what they are. In the meantime, three games are currently confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in January 2022, consisting of the aforementioned Anacrusis on January 13, and Pupperazzi and Windjammers 2 on January 20.

LG’s OLED EX TVs produce 30% more brightness and thinner bezels than conventional OLEDs - GSMArena.com news - GSMArena.com

LG is introducing its next generation of TV panels called OLED EX. These new panels can output up to 30% more brightness while reducing the size of the bezels needed around a TV. Based on a 65-inch TV, the bezel has been reduced from 6mm down to 4mm thin.

The “EX” bit comes from “Evolution” and “eXperience” which is a cute acronym for LG, but what does that really mean aside from marketing speak?

LG’s OLED EX TVs produce 30% more brightness and thinner bezels than conventional OLEDs

The improvements come from deuterium, one of the two stable isotopes of hydrogen. LG Display has figured out how to extract deuterium (also known as ‘heavy hydrogen’) from water to apply it to the organic light-emitting devices. Deuterium lets the display emit brighter light than using hydrogen with higher efficiency over time.

The other half of OLED EX is a ‘personalized algorithm’ developed by LG Display that predicts the power usage of individual pixels and can improve the power efficiency of the panels’ output.

LG will begin the transition of all its OLED products to OLED EX at LG Display’s OLED production plants in Paju South Korea and Guangzhou, China in Q2 2022.

Despite the global TV market experiencing a 12 percent decline this year, we still observed a 70 percent growth in OLED sales […] With our new OLED EX technology, we aim to provide even more innovative high-end customer experiences through the evolution of our OLED technology, algorithms and designs.” – Dr. Oh Chang-ho, Executive Vice President & head of the TV Business Unit at LG Display

LG will be showcasing its next generation displays, translucent screens, and high-end TVs at CES 2022 in Vegas kicking off next week.

Is it safe to store your passwords on Chrome or other Internet browsers? - India Today

These days people have a lot of online accounts, which makes it difficult to memorize all the passwords. Chrome gives you the convenience of saving your login details to Google servers to make it hassle-free for managing passwords. However, Chrome is not alone. Other browsers like Mozilla Firefox also let you store usernames and passwords for immediately accessing websites. But, have you ever wondered if saving your passwords to Chrome, Google, or any other browser is safe or dangerous? Let's talk about it.

Is it safe to store passwords on Chrome or other browsers?

Well, Google says Chrome encrypts your username and password with a "secret key" known only to your device. And this happens before the data is stored on Google servers, which means that no one, including Google, can access your username or password.

If you visit the password manager section of your Google account, you will learn that even you cannot access your id or passwords. Yes, you read it, right. The search giant will first ask you to enter the password of your Gmail account, after which you will be able to check the details.

While Google never sends an alert when you or, for instance, someone else try to access your passwords, the good thing is you don't get access to all the passwords at once. So, for example, if you want to check your Facebook username and password, then you will click on it and enter your Gmail password. You will then be able to check the login credentials.

This is a good practice, but you don't get special alerts for this. Browsers like Firefox don't even follow this practice, and there is no way to add a security PIN to protect the id and passwords you store to its servers. While Firefox says your data is "secure," this doesn't seem to be the case as one can simply open or hack your laptop, access login credentials from Settings > Privacy & Security > Logins & passwords.

Whatever may be the case, it is still not safe to store log in details on any browser, including Chrome, as you don't always get full protection and risks are always involved. For example, if your laptop gets breached, your data may be compromised. If your Gmail account gets hacked, then the person will be able to easily log into any account or site that you have stored on Google servers. You might have noticed that once you log in to Gmail on your new device, you don't need to log in again to Play Store or Chrome or Google Photos or Drive. You can easily access everything by just logging into Gmail.

What can you do?

If your Facebook, Outlook, bank and other account passwords are saved to Google, then you should remove them immediately. While several banking sites have a two-step verification system and follow some security protocols, so it might be difficult for the hacker to crack. But, it is advisable not to log in credentials of any account.

The sites or accounts that are not as important can remain in the password manager list.

There is a reason why people are asked to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) as this not only requires you to enter your primary password but also a secondary password, PIN or OTP, which no one knows. This doesn't mean 2FA is completely hack-proof, as researchers from Stony Brook University and cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks have found that some "phishing toolkits" like Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacks can achieve this. While people can't do much about it, they can do one thing - follow basic things to make it harder for hackers to access your data. It is mandatory to enable 2FA for every online account you have, and one should change passwords every month.

Try to keep unique passwords, add secondary passwords or PIN codes. It is very important to use 2FA for your Google account and add a recovery email to the same account. So, if your account gets hacked, then you can immediately recover it using your secondary Gmail account.

How to remove passwords from Chrome?

Just type "Google Password Manager" on your browser, and it will display the official site of Google on the top. Click on it and select any site or account you don't want Chrome to keep on its servers. The search giant will then ask you to enter your Gmail password, after which you can delete it.

Samsung usually ships its flagship devices in both a Snapdragon and its proprietary Exynos chip variant, the version launched in India has traditionally been the latter. This time, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered Galaxy S22 series is heading to India as well.

Xiaomi 12

The Xiaomi 12 is said to sport a curved screen with a centre punch-hole for the selfie camera, 120 Hz refresh rate and "2K" resolution, dual speakers, and a triple rear camera system with a 50 MP main sensor from Samsung or Sony.

Other possible features include 120W fast charging and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, as per the report.

A recent report said that the vanilla model of Xiaomi 12 will feature support for 100W fast charging technology, which is unlike 120W fast charging technology that is included in Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11T Pro among others.

As chipmaker Qualcomm is soon expected to unveil its next flagship mobile chipset, which will be a direct successor to the Snapdragon 888, Xiaomi 12 is tipped to be the first phone to be powered by the new chip.

Google Pixel 6a

Pixel is another eagerly-awaited smartphone in 2022. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Google Pixel 6a is rumoured to pack a dual rear camera setup featuring a 12.2MP primary camera, and a 12MP camera.

Our pick of the best to-do apps in iOS 15 for 2022 - Techradar

Audio player loading…

We all live busy, hectic lives these days and, with so many distractions around us to draw our attention away from the things we need to get done, we could use some organization.

The iPhone has an ever-improving to-do app built right in, but if you’re looking to take things to the next level with some more advanced options, there are also some very impressive third-party reminder apps available to you.

If you are constantly forgetting when your cars are due for a service or when you need to pay that important bill then you could use a to-do app.

Below, we highlight five of the best to-do apps on iOS to help you get things done and keep your focus on what's important.

Apple Reminders

Reminders app in iOS 15

The Reminders app from Apple is on every iOS device out of the box. As with other Apple built-in apps, it can feel quite basic initially, but for many, this clean simplicity is what makes it shine. Dig a little deeper, however, and you'll find more depth to the app than you’d imagine.

A major plus point of the Reminders app is its deep integration with the system itself. As you’d expect, it works well with Siri, which can even be invoked within apps like Mail with the phrase ‘remind me about this email.’ This will alert you at the chosen time and also let you jump directly back to the app.

Stock Apple apps can go years without any real updates, but Reminders has been refreshed year after year for some time now. With iOS 15, quite a few new features have helped the app keep up with some premium third-party apps.

Tagging was introduced, so now you can easily group and view all items with the same tag via the new Custom Smart lists feature. One long-requested feature that made it into the iOS 15 release is natural-language support, so you can type statements such as ‘Call Mike every other Friday at 5PM.’

Other useful features include the ability to add picture attachments to tasks and an option to be reminded about a due item the next time you message the chosen individual. Now you’ve got a strong to-do app ready to be put to use.

GoodTask

GoodTask in iOS 15

If Apple’s Reminders app is the Ford pickup of the to-do world, then GoodTask is the Tesla Cybertruck equivalent. GoodTask takes everything you get in Reminders and soups it up.

GoodTask is free, but there's an in-app purchase of $9.99 / £8.99 / AU$14.99 to fully unlock the app. It's based on Reminders, but it adds a lot more advanced features not available in Apple's app. Some of these features include quick actions that can be customized to help you enter new to-do items quicker, such as marking the item due in +5 hours or automatically tagging it.

The app offers a lot of options to customize both the layout and theme to really make it fit around the way you work and not vice versa. GoodTask is a universal app, so it works across all iOS and iPadOS devices. It also has a very good macOS and Apple Watch app to round things off.

GoodTask is the ideal app for anyone that doesn’t want to sign up for yet another service that will hold your data, or for those that like the Reminders experience but need more power-user features that the stock app just doesn’t offer currently.

Todoist

Todoist in iOS 15

While the first two options on this list focused on Apple device users, many people don’t have the luxury of using just one device manufacturer to get their work done. There are also some very good to-do apps for iOS that can be used across Android, Windows and the web. One of the best examples of a truly cross-platform to-do app is Todoist. The ability to use this service both in and out of the Apple ecosystem makes this a strong option for those of us that use a Windows PC for work but use Apple hardware and software outside the office.

Todoist has been around for a long time and offers a clean, easy-to-use interface that looks at home on any platform and syncs seamlessly between each one. A strong selling point beyond the option of using it truly anywhere is the fantastic natural-language reminder entry, which lets you describe what you want it to do in a natural, non-robotic way. You could say something like: ‘Remind me to pay the gas bill on the 27th of every month’ and Todoist would set this recurring event for you automatically.

Todoist is a freemium product, which means the app is free to download but includes an optional subscription to add extra functionality. The free tier is, actually, very generous. The extras you get with a subscription, such as the ability to add up to 25 people to each project, themes, and custom icons are nice to have, but definitely don’t hinder a single user from using the app to great effect.

If you really want to go to the next level with your tasks, Todoist even offers a Kanban board view so you can get a better visualization of various interconnected tasks across a large project. For those unfamiliar, a Kanban board allows you to display all tasks on a single board, which you can drag between statuses such as ‘not started’, ‘in progress’, and ‘done’.

If you’re looking for a feature-rich to-do app that works perfectly on any device you use then Todoist may be the perfect app for you.

Things 3

Of all of the to-do apps in this roundup, Things 3 is the least flexible both in terms of functionality and options for using it across multiple, non-Apple platforms. It loses points for no web app or Windows version, but it makes up for it in pure good looks. Costing $9.99 / £8.99 / AU$14.99, the app oozes charm and fluidity and is very rigidly based on the GTD (Get Things Done) methodology.

This app has won two Apple Design Awards in the past, but it’s more than just a well-designed to-do list. Things 3 includes unparalleled keyboard shortcut support, keyboard navigation, calendar integration, and some very nice widgets. It also has one of the best Apple Watch apps in the business.

With Things 3 you can, as you would imagine, add standalone tasks one at a time, but a big strength for the app is the ability to quickly convert a single to-do item into a project. You can then fill it with subtasks and more detail about the project itself. Things 3 is an app you should turn to when a simple ‘one item at a time' to-do system just won’t do.

There are some downsides to Things 3 to consider. The main sticking point is the relatively expensive upfront cost and the fact that you have to buy it separately for every device you want it on. A lack of Windows or web support may also put people off, but if you want a great-looking app with a lot of muscle under the hood then look no further.

OmniFocus 3

Some may describe Things 3 as form over function. OmniFocus 3, on the other hand, may tip the balance the other way. That’s not to say OmniFocus isn’t decent looking, in its own special way, but it certainly lets its functionality do the talking.

Of all the apps or services listed here, OmniFocus is the most advanced, with a focus on power users and those with large projects to manage. While it’s perfectly usable by anyone, you’re unlikely to get the most out of it unless you have a lot on your plate.

Available as a subscription of $9.99 / £9.49 / AU$15.99 a month, its emphasis is on creating and managing larger projects where you can tag your tasks with places, people, or priorities. By tagging tasks as much as possible, OmniFocus encourages you to manage tasks through what it calls ‘perspectives’. So, for example, if you have a work project with Bob from Accounts, you could filter down to all tasks tagged with ‘work’ and ‘Bob’ and work through all relevant tasks.

To get the most out of OmniFocus you would need to live a very busy and organized life. If this doesn’t apply to you, the app may be overkill. If it does apply to you, however, this is a powerful and flexible app that would help you de-stress, focus, and get things done.
