On Tuesday, Qualcomm officially announced its next chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the chip maker’s first 4nm chipset for smartphones and Motorola has confirmed that the Edge X30 will be its first flagship with the new SoC.
Motorola confirmed via Weibo that the Edge X30 will be announced at a launch event in China on December 9 at 7:30PM local time. The teaser doesn’t confirm anything more about the new Moto Edge device.
This Motorola phone was rumored all month. 3C certification suggests the Motorola Edge X30 (XT2201-2) will support 68.2W charging for its supposed 5,000 mAh battery. Another leak points to a flat 6.67-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen with HDR10+ support. There’s also word of a 60MP punch hole selfie camera. The triple camera setup shown may consist of a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra wide, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Just a couple of days ago, Lenovo’s General Manager also teased the phone, saying they had it in hand and hyping up fans. There are rumors of both an Edge 30 Ultra and an Edge X30, which we are still not sure refer to the same device. It’s also plausible that Motorola could announce two models with Qualcomm’s new silicon.
