Twitter reverses twin-tab layout, users can see latest tweets first again - Times of India

Twitter has gone back on its decision of a twin-tab layout. The microblogging platform has decided to roll back to its original layout where users were able to see the latest tweets first.
Twitter faced criticism from several users for switching from its chronological timeline to a new system that showed suggested tweets instead. Twitter had started rolling the previous twin-layout update, a few weeks back.
Twitter confirmed about the move in a Tweet saying: “We heard you –– some of you always want to see the latest Tweets first. We've switched the timeline back and removed the tabbed experience for now while we explore other options.”

The company also embedded its previous Tweet from March 11, which mentioned about the earlier system of viewing tweets.
In the previous, twin-tab layout users were able to see two tabs at the top half of the app to interchange between Home (with suggested tweets and latest tweets).
This means that a user can still see the tweets in chronological order but can’t access them by default since the Home tab will always be the first to appear. A report by 9to5Mac had also confirmed that Twitter spokesperson had mentioned that the company might change this again in future.
Instagram, meanwhile, has been testing the new feed options that bring back chronological order without showing post suggestions.
