Does Google Maps show your location accurately? If not, here is how to fix your Google Maps location accurately.
Google Maps is not only used to look for directions to places you want to visit but also can be used to share your location with people who want to reach you. Your location is also important as the direction to the place you want to go will be shown by the Maps starting from your location. If you use Google Maps, you must be aware that your location is shown with a blue dot on the map. When Google Maps is not sure about your location, there will be a light blue circle around the blue dot. You might be anywhere within the light blue circle. The smaller the circle, the more certain the app is about your location. So, if you want to change it, here is how to fix your Google Maps location accurately.
It can also be known that if the blue dot is not visible or is gray, Maps cannot find your current location and shows the last location you visited. If there is something between you and cell towers, like a parking garage or tall buildings, your blue dot might not be accurate. Also there are instances when Google Maps may have trouble finding your location. If the GPS location of your blue dot on the map is inaccurate or missing, you can take steps to help fix the problem. Also Read:Know how to schedule Google Maps trips and other helpful features
These steps will also improve your search results and make them more relevant to you. Here is how you can find your current location on the map.
Google Maps: How to find your current location
1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
2. The blue dot on the map will show your location. If there is no blue dot, at the bottom right, tap Your location My location.
How Maps finds your current location: Maps estimates where you are from sources like:
1. GPS: Maps use satellites to know your location up to around 20 meters. When you are inside buildings or underground, the GPS is sometimes inaccurate.
2. Wi-Fi: The location of nearby Wi-Fi networks helps Maps know where you are.
3. Cell tower: Your connection to mobile data can be accurate up to a few thousand meters.
In order to help Google Maps find your location with the most accurate blue dot, use high accuracy mode. Here is how:
Google Maps: How to turn on high accuracy mode
1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app.
The Infinix Note 12 VIP is the latest arrival here at the office and it's one of the best-equipped. We're not talking about specs, although they're nothing to sneeze at either - no, we're talking about the retail experience.
The Infinix Note 12 VIP comes jam-packed with accessories. You get a gift card to Infinix's store, a bunch of stickers, a SIM tool, a complimentary case, a screen protector (as well as one pre-applied on the phone), earbuds, a USB cable, and a 120W charger.
The charger itself is the smallest 120W brick we've seen. It's rated for 5.0V at 3.0A or 4.0-20V at 6.0A. Just 10 minutes on this charger can replenish enough juice for 6 hours of gaming or 5 hours of YouTube streaming, the company claims. And the Note 12 VIP needs only 17 minutes to reach a full charge.
Infinix assures us there are 103 protection features to prevent quick battery degradation of the 4,500mAh battery. There are also 18 temperature sensors inside the phone. The maker claims the battery would retain 85% of its capacity after 800 charge cycles.
As for the phone itself, we have the Cayenne grey model. It's a mix between slate grey and sky blue and is one we haven't really seen on any phone so far.
Infinix Note 12 VIP
The Infinix Note 12 VIP has a clean design and a minimal feel in the hand. The screen edges have a slight, 2.5D curve to them, but other than that, the Inifinix Note 12 VIP is flat throughout. Flat sides, a flat rear panel and a square camera island.
That camera island packs three cameras in total, and two of note - the main shooter has a 108MP 1/1.67" sensor and an f/1.8 lens. It delivers 12MP shots after 9-to-1 pixel binning. The other noteworthy camera is the 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide. The third one is merely a 2MP depth-sensing unit.
On the opposite side is a 16MP selfie camera.
Infinix Note 12 VIP
We'll close with a word on the display. It's lovely and it's by far the best we've seen on an Infinix phone. Specs-wise, it's a 6.7-inch 1080x2400px 10-bit panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz maximum touch sampling rate. The screen is very punchy and contrasty and gets nicely bright. It's a lovely thing to look at, and the preloaded wallpapers from Infinix do it justice.
Stay tuned for a more in-depth look at the Infinix Note 12 VIP coming later on.
Do you know, your WhatsApp has an in-built feature to convert your photo into WhatsApp sticker. Yes, you can do it with these WhatsApp tips! Know the steps.
WhatsApp is a dynamic app which keeps on adding new features to make the chatting and social networking experience more smooth and fun. A horrifying new WhatsApp scam can steal access to your account with just a phone call! Know how to avoid this threat.
Whether it is email, SMS, bank account logins, or social media, cybercrime is expanding its reach into each and every facet of our daily lives. And guess what, now the most used messaging application, WhatsApp has become the platform for cyber fraud in a new way. WhatsApp scams are happening way too frequently these days with hackers adopting new tactics to dupe innocent users to take control of their data, especially dealing with bank accounts. Now, another way has been found by hackers that is even more insidious. This WhatsApp scam allows hackers to take control of your account with just a phone call! And that’s it! Just a phone call and your WhatsApp account access will be in the hands of cybercriminals.
The new WhatsApp scam was highlighted by Rahul Sasi, the founder and CEO of CloudSEk, which is a contextual AI startup that alerts about the potential cyber dangers or scams. According to the cyber expert, victims get a call from hackers who instruct them to dial numbers beginning with '67' or '405'. Those who obey and do so find that they are logged out of their account and, what is more, hackers will have complete control of their WhatsApp accounts. Also Read: Zoom ALERT! iPhone, Android or Windows users are at HIGH risk; Do this now
Also read: Looking for a smartphone? To check mobile finder click here.
According to CloudSEK's founder, the number dialled by victims is a service request for Airtel's 'call forwarding' for when your phone line is busy or engaged. They can then redirect the victims' calls to a phone number that belongs to them. In the meantime, the attackers start the WhatsApp signup process by choosing "the option to send OTP through phone call." He said that the OTP will now be sent to the attacker's phone. Through this technique, the attacker is able to gain access to the victims' accounts. Also Read: Have Apple iPhone? Beware! Hackers targetting you with vicious money-stealing FluBot malware
According to the security researcher, the same method can also be used to get into anyone's WhatsApp account. "This method works globally because every country and service provider has an identical service request number," Rahul Sasi mentioned.
How to avoid being the victim of this WhatsApp scam?
Scammers will try to contact you out of the blue. The simple trick is to avoid taking calls from unknown numbers or to make calls to unknown numbers.
Don't fall for the trap! If the hackers ask you to dial any number or try to get any personal or financial details, then never share that.
If you get to know about a scam or hacker, then report them. You can directly report on WhatsApp also, while going to Settings - Help and then Contact Us. There, explain your problem and report about the scam.

We can add these features when we need them, and remove them when we don’t," Google said.

Microsoft working on 'Keystone' Xbox game streaming dongle
Highlights
Microsoft isn't only working on a streaming device; it also has an Xbox app for TVs in the works.
As reported by Windows Central, Microsoft's xCloud streaming device, long in development, is going through some changes. Microsoft first announced the dedicated streaming dongle in June 2021, but in a statement provided to Windows Central, the company said it had moved away from the "current iteration" of the device, which it says is codenamed Keystone.
Here's Microsoft's complete statement shared with Windows Central:
Our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming is unwavering, our goal is to enable people to play the games they want, on the devices they want, anywhere they want. As announced last year, we've been working on a game-streaming device, codename Keystone, that could be connected to any TV or monitor without the need for a console.
As part of any technical journey, we are constantly evaluating our efforts, reviewing our learnings, and ensuring we are bringing value to our customers. We have made the decision to pivot away from the current iteration of the Keystone device. We will take our learnings and refocus our efforts on a new approach that will allow us to deliver Xbox Cloud Gaming to more players around the world in the future.
It's not clear what these changes might be, and Microsoft didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. But there's a lot of promise for a dedicated Xbox streaming device. While the Xbox Series X has been more widely available than the PS5, it's still not the easiest console to get your hands on and costs hundreds of dollars. So a (presumably) cheaper streaming device could be a more affordable way for many to watch the games Microsoft offers via the cloud, including, starting this month, Epic Games' Fortnite.
Microsoft isn't only working on a streaming device; it also has an Xbox app for TVs in the works. In November 2020, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer told The Verge that "I think you'll see it in the next 12 months," and while the company missed that deadline, VentureBeat reported on May 6 that an Xbox game streaming app for Samsung smart TVs "should debut in the next 12 months." In addition, VentureBeat said the streaming device is also set for sometime in the next 12 months.
While we don't know when Microsoft plans to share more about these projects, it has a big showcase scheduled for June 12.
Mojang Studios is set to release the next update for Minecraft next month. The developers have announced that the Minecraft version 1.19 update also known as ‘The Wild Update’ will be officially rolled out on June 7, 2022. Mojang Studios have worked with the Minecraft community to develop The Wild Update for one of the most successful survival games. This new update is expected to bring several new features and content to the game. Minecraft’s upcoming update has been under active development and testing for months and not the developers have finally decided to release the update to the public. The next update for the game is expected to cement Minecraft's place as one of the greatest games on Xbox and PC. Minecraft The Wild Update availability
Minecraft 1.19 "The Wild Update" will be released on June 7, 2022, and is expected to arrive simultaneously on all the platforms the game is available in that includes -- Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. Minecraft The Wild Update: Two new overworld biomes
Minecraft’s upcoming Wild update will add several new features and content to the game that will include two new overworld biomes -- Mangrove swamps and the Deep Dark. Mangrove swamps is expected to feature new mangrove trees, roots, mud blocks, frogs and frog light blocks. Meanwhile, the Deep Dark will depict a place buried far below the earth that features -- durable deep slate, shriekers and sculk blocks, terrifying warden mobs as well as new Ancient City structures. Minecraft The Wild Update: Five new mobs
The game is also likely to introduce five new mobs that are -- Tadpoles and frogs, Alay, Shriekers and Warden. Tadpoles and frogs grow from frogspawn and will be available in multiple varieties depending upon the temperature of the biome where they will -- live, eat tiny slime blocks and produce frog light blocks. On the other hand, Allay is expected to be a friendly companion to any player as it will be able to collect items similar to the one it holds and can also attach to note-blocks. Meanwhile, shriekers can be found in the Deep Dark and can give off powerful screeches if they detect vibrations through sculk blocks. Lastly, the Wardens will be there will attack players that make too much noise. Wardens are powerful enemies that remain hidden and buried within the Deep Dark and are capable of crushing physical attacks and a ranged "sonic boom" attack. Minecraft The Wild Update: New gameplay features
Minecraft’s upcoming update features new gameplay that mainly focuses on the Deep Dark biome. This new biome is a dangerous location where players need to be cautious and prepared. The Wild update will enable sculk blocks to detect vibrations from everything that makes a sound. On detecting vibration, these sculk blocks produce a Redstone signal that can alert shriekers. If the noise made by the player is not enough to alert the wardens, the screech of a shrieker will surely do so. Wardens are dangerous enemies and players shouldn’t battle with them unless it is necessary. These enemies present in the Deep Dark biome are blind and respond primarily to sound. Players who can quietly make it through the Deep Dark will be able to secure some valuable loot from Ancient City structures.
Apart from these new additions, Minecraft players will have plenty to explore in the new update. However, a report by Windows Central suggests that the upcoming update is not as ‘ambitious or epic’ as the last one -- the Caves and Cliffs Update. The report also mentions that a few planned features for The Wild Update will be removed while other previously announced features might not even arrive with this update. Xbox Series S massive price cut down to Rs. 30,000! Know how you can get this deal on Flipkart now.
Xbox Series S gets mega price cut in India! The most affordable gaming console from Microsoft has now gotten even more affordable — thanks to a new price cut on Flipkart. This deal makes owning the Xbox Series S a sweeter deal than ever. Know that the Xbox Series S is part of Microsoft’s latest generation consoles that also holds the Series X. Sadly, neither the Series X is available in India and nor it in enjoying any price cut deals.
The Xbox Series S was launched in India back in 2020 as an answer to the Sony PS5. However, the Series S was much cheaper back then compared to the Sony PlayStation 5 Digital version, with a retail price of Rs. 34,990. The price of the console has largely remained unchanged until now, when you can get a big discount of almost Rs. 5,000.

The Xbox Series S carries a MRP of Rs. 34,990 but on Flipkart, you can get one for yourself right now at a price of Rs. 30,499. That is a lot of saving on this gaming console, enough to make you get an annual subscription of the Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, those making transaction via an ICICI Bank credit card can get an additional discount of Rs. 500.
For that price, you are not going to get anything remotely as capable as the Series S console. For the price of a basic Chromebook laptop, the Xbox Series S lets you stream 2K content, play games at up to 120Hz, and most importantly, lets you try all the latest games. More importantly, the Xbox Series S lets you access the Xbox Game Pass subscription, which lets you play all the latest games by paying a nominal monthly subscription. You also get the Game Pass on PCs but the Series S is a much cheaper way to do so.
The Xbox Series S also offers certain advantages such as Quick Resume, which lets you catch up on your favourite game from the point you left off, even without saving any progress.
However, note that the Xbox Series S is not as powerful as the Sony PlayStation 5 — it won’t be able to run the games at their best quality. Additionally, the Series S has a meagre 512GB storage, out of which only 364GB is available. Hence, you won’t be able to load up all your games on the storage.
War Thunder developer Gaijin Entertainment may not have an official movie license, but this certainly isn’t deterring them from jumping on the bandwagon.
With its tech trees having recently advanced as far as the A-10 Thunderbolt, it may be a little early to introduce Maverick’s F/A-18E Super Hornet, but there is another famous Top Gun aircraft ripe for the taking, and it’s the F-14 Tomcat.
That’s exactly what’s coming with the upcoming update teased today, aptly titled “Danger Zone.”
You can check the beloved carrier-borne fighter jet out in the trailer below.
War Thunder is currently playable for free (with the usual optional purchases that many believe aren’t all that optional) for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
If you’re unfamiliar with War Thunder, here’s an official description:
“War Thunder is the most comprehensive free-to-play, cross-platform, MMO military game dedicated to aviation, armoured vehicles, from the early 20th century to the most advanced modern combat units. Join now and take part in major battles on land, in the air, and at sea, fighting with millions of players from all over the world in an ever-evolving environment.
In War Thunder, aircraft, attack helicopters, ground forces and naval ships collaborate in realistic competitive battles. You can choose from over 2,000 vehicles and an extensive variety of combat situations many of which are exclusive. You can find yourself blasting your pursuers from a bomber turret, defending your teammates on the ground from an air raid with anti-aircraft guns, shooting down enemy planes with a firestorm from multiple rocket launchers, or trying to sink an enemy warship with a torpedo from a fast attack boat.”
Smartphone prices have gone up in the past year, and you can partly blame that on the advent of 5G and brands using the pricier hardware to meet the network compatibility. Because of 5G, you often see phones missing out on basic features, especially for the price, but in their defence, the brands have found a middle ground where people feel happy to pay the extra buck.

iPhone 14 Pro is predicted to feature the Always On Display from Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Here are all the details.
iPhone 14 Pro could borrow a feature that has been present on the Samsung Galaxy flagships since ages! At the moment, high refresh rate displays are all the hype in the world of smartphones, with even affordable smartphones now offering up to 144Hz refresh rate. Apple gave in to the trend last year by introducing its ProMotion displays on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The display had a variable refresh rate range of 10Hz to 120Hz, which was cutting edge in 2021. This year though, some upgrades are expected on this front on the iPhone 14 Pro.
Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, says he is “expecting” the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to feature an upgraded variable refresh rate feature, wherein the variation happens between 1Hz to 120Hz. Ross himself says it isn’t confirmed yet but there seems to be a high chance, considering all of Apple’s rivals have been using the new LTPO 2.0 panels on their flagships.
Flagships from Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi are using LTPO 2.0 panels that offer the refresh rate variation between 1Hz to 120Hz. This not only makes everything appear smooth but takes less strain on the battery life.
iPhone 14 Pro could get another display upgrade
Another advantage of using such a kind of display is the possibility of Apple giving the iPhone an Always On Display feature — a feature that has been present on Android devices since years! With a display capable of going down to 1Hz, Apple could give the Pro iPhones the ability to show Always On Display widgets, just like you can use on Samsung devices. Apple already uses such a panel on the Apple Watch Series 7 wherein it can conserve battery life by dropping the refresh rate down to 1Hz for the Always On Display faces.
That said, there is a high chance that Apple may not consider bringing an AOD feature to the iPhone 14 Pro — the feature is a battery hog despite all the advancements. Keeping your phone’s display always on to show time and other information may drain more battery, and even lead to issues like OLED burn. Hence, Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi and other manufacturers offer the default option of the AOD screen coming up only when you tap the display.
Flipkart has given a complete redesign to its mobile app, making the leap from India to Bharat. The Walmart-owned company aims to address the needs of Bharat with the new update. As part of the redesign, shopping categories on the Homepage get a new place and navigation. "With millions of first-time internet users exploring e-commerce from not just from metros but from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, it was imperative to create a user experience that caters to the diverse needs of the users," said the company in a statement.
The revamp introduces design changes that the company says will enable seamless navigation between various categories of products and services, and make the Flipkart mobile app experience intuitive for its customers. The design changes are said to be based on the user design principles around uniformity, predictability, ease of use and building a people-first app design. All that has changed and is new
Flipkart has given special importance to Grocery category in the redesign. The updated app has a separate and more visible tab for Grocery shopping. Flipkart says that this has been done to help new customers who are exploring Grocery shopping online for the first time. The e-tailer has expanded availability of groceries across 1,800 cities in the country. * Grocery tab on top: Grocery tab on the top of the homepage is designed to enable quick access to this service. This new Grocery tab will be visible to users in the 10,000 pin codes across 1,800 cities serviceable by Flipkart Grocery. * Consolidation of navigation buttons: The app will enable users to switch between shopping via the homepage, browsing different categories, viewing notifications and past orders, and finishing their purchases in the cart, all in the bottom navigation.
* The “Discovery” menu below the search bar now comprises features such as SuperCoins, Stores, Flipkart Feeds, Offer Zone, and more.
* The hamburger menu on the top has been removed. The bottom bar has been revamped with icons for ‘Home’, ‘Notifications’ and ‘Cart’.
* My Orders is now housed under My Account in the bottom navigation. When is the new app design rolling out
The new app design is live on Android devices and will be rolled out on Apple iOS next month.
In the last one year, Flipkart has introduced several newer categories, and there was an opportunity to shorten the gap in consumer experience through simplification of navigation and enhancement of design for an easy experience. About six variations of the navigation design were A/B tested with thousands of customers for over two months, and qualitative insights were also gathered through user-research, which helped build a people-first app design.
LG is bringing its Rollable OLED TV to India this week, almost three years after it was first unveiled at the CES. In addition to this showstopper, the company has introduced a slew of OLED TVs that will compete with Sony and Samsung in the high-end television segment in India.
The South Korean brand is bringing in the big runs, literally, which includes a 96-inch OLED TV model and even a 42-inch OLED TV for buyers. It packs the latest imaging processor and offers dual-channel audio output.
LG Rollable OLED TV And 2022 OLED TV Series India Price
The high-end LG Rollable OLED TV is priced at a whopping Rs 75 lakh in India, and LG says it expects to sell in big numbers. The other LG 2022 OLED TV lineup starts from Rs 88,990.
LG Rollable OLED TV And 8K OLED TV Specifications
The main reason for the hefty price tag of the rollable OLED TV from LG is the rollable technology implemented for the TV. It doesn’t offer much in terms of features. The LG Rollable OLED TV doesn’t even come with the best picture quality that LG’s OLED lineup has. Its performance is similar to that of the LGs lineup of high-end OLEDs from 2020.
Having said that, the rollable TV does come with other high-end features like HDMI 2.1, 120Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution, support for HDR standards like Dolby Vision, variable refresh rate, Amazon Alexa/ Google Assistant support, and Dolby Atmos audio. LG says that the Rollable OLED TV R can survive at least 50,000 rolls in its lifetime.
LG continues to use its own WebOS platform on its TV series, which caters to its app store for different popular apps on the big screen. The 8K TV lineup comes in 77-inch and 88-inch screen sizes. It has been powered with LG’s a9 Gen5 AI processor.
The TV market has diversified to a large extent, giving you OLED options for as low as Rs 50,000 these days. But brands like LG, Samsung, Sony and a few others bank on their quality and premium experience to charge the extra buck.
With just two weeks to go until WWDC 2022, Apple on Tuesday confirmed the schedule for its annual developer conference with an opening keynote on June 6. The company also shared a cool image to promote the event, and now you can use it as wallpaper on your iPhone.
Since 2020, Apple has been using Memojis to promote WWDC. Both the 2020 and 2021 event artworks had Memojis looking at the screen of a MacBook. This time, however, the WWDC 2022 featured image shows the silhouette of five different Memojis, each in different colors: red, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Of course, these artworks don’t mean much when it comes to revealing what Apple will introduce during the event. Even so, they are mysterious enough to make users create theories about them.
Twitter user @AR72014 has created special iPhone wallpapers based on WWDC 2022 marketing images. There are two different versions of the wallpapers, one with the WWDC logo and one without. Each has one image optimized for older iPhones and another for iPhone X and later.
Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2022 kicks off on Monday, June 6, with an opening keynote where Apple will unveil the next major updates to its operating systems – iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
Also on Monday, the company will present the Platforms State of the Union with an in-depth look at new technologies for developers, and the traditional Apple Design Awards. The event runs through June 10 with multiple sessions to help developers learn more about what’s new in Apple’s operating systems.
Although the keynote and sessions will be pre-recorded and streamed online, Apple has invited a small number of developers to a special event on June 6 at Apple Park. More details about WWDC 2022 can be found on Apple’s website.
