The coming week of May is packed with some fantastic smartphone launches, mainly from the BBK group – OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, iQOO, and Vivo. The list includes the likes of the OnePlus Nord 2T, the Realme Narzo 50 series, the Vivo X80 series, and more. While a few of these smartphones are heading to India, others will be launched globally in Europe and China. Here’s a quick look at their specifications, design, and expected price in India, among other things:
1. OnePlus Ace Racing Edition – May 17th
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is said to be a rebadged version of the OnePlus 10R, which was launched in India a while ago. The handset is heading to China, with slightly downgraded specs and a tweak in design, on May 17th. The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition specifications will include a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC under the hood. This will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition will tout a triple camera module at the back, with a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, it will sport a 16MP snapper in the punch-hole setup. The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is tipped to sport a 6.59-inch IPS LCD display that bears FHD+ resolution and a high refresh rate. The entire setup is said to be driven by a 4,890mAh rated battery capacity with support for a 65W fast charging solution.

2. Realme Narzo 50 5G series – May 18th
Hot on its heels of the GT series launch, Realme is gearing up for the new Narzo-series smartphones launch in India. The series will comprise two smartphones, namely Realme Narzo 50 5G and Narzo 50 Pro 5G. Both smartphones will break cover at an event on May 18th and go on sale via Amazon.in from May 24th onwards. in the country.
The Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, which is said to be the fastest in the segment, while the regular Narzo 50 5G may rock Dimensity 810 SoC under the hood. The series will ship with an AMOLED panel and a 5,000mAh battery, which is likely to be backed by a 33W fast charging solution. In an exclusive report, 91mobiles has revealed the Narzo 50 Pro 5G will come in 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB storage versions and two colour options, Black and Blue colour options.
An official render of the phone has confirmed a punch-hole screen, which is rumoured to house a 16MP selfie snapper. Around the back, the Narzo 50 Pro 5G is tipped to sport a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary and 2MP tertiary sensor. The regular Realme Narzo 50 5G is expected to sport 48MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and 8MP selfie snapper.

3. Vivo X80 series – May 18th
It’s the most anticipated Vivo smartphone in India. The Vivo X80 series is scheduled to launch in India on May 18th. In addition to the regular Vivo X80, the series will comprise the Pro model. The Vivo X80 and X80 Pro specifications are likely to be the same as the Chinese variants, which were launched last month. The handsets will sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+/ QHD+ resolution. The Pro variant will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which will be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
In optics, the Vivo X80 Pro will sport a 50MP quad-rear camera setup, which supports gimbal stabilization, 2x optical zoom with OIS, and up to 114-degree field-of-view. The phone will also have Vivo’s own custom V1+ chip, which will help the camera department to reduce noise, and speed up the processing. All of this will be covered under Zeiss T* coating and Zeiss optics.
On the contrary, the Vivo X80 will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In the camera department, the handset will sport a Zeiss optics triple rear camera setup that delivers a 50MP Sony IMX866 primary sensor with OIS support, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP camera for selfies.

OnePlus Nord 2T – May 19th
Following the success of the OnePlus Nord 2, OnePlus is gearing up to launch a mild refresh of the same model. Dubbed the OnePlus Nord 2T, the device will have an updated Dimensity 1300 SoC, a similar 4500 mAh battery with faster 80W charging speeds, and the same 6.43″ full HD AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. According to the leaked renders, the device does have a polarizing design, with a huge 50MP primary camera module, followed by a couple of small camera units– 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth – in a single camera ring. The phone is expected to launch with OxygenOS 12.1 with Android 12 out of the box.
The phone is confirmed to launch on May 19th in Europe, at 4 PM CEST. So, mark your calendars. We hope this model is free from the blast issues that plagued the OnePlus Nord 2.

5. iQOO Neo 6 – no word yet
iQOO is also readying to launch a new smartphone iQOO Neo 6 in India, and chances are that it could make its debut next. The company has teased the smartphone in the country but is yet to reveal the launch date. The handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 870 SoC under the hood and sport 80W fast charging solution. The remaining iQOO Neo 6 specifications are tipped to be the same as the iQOO Neo 6 SE from China.
The handset will sport a 6.62-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be driven by a 4,700mAh battery and run on Android 12-based FunTouch OS 12 out of the box. Moving to optics, the iQOO Neo 6 could sport a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 64MP f/1.89 Samsung ISOCELL + GW1P primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP monochrome shooter. It’s likely to come with a 16MP f/2.0 camera for selfies and video calls at the front.
