The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is the latest budget 5G smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker and the brand is known for offering a clean Android experience with a sense of premium-ness. With a starting price of Rs 19,999, the latest entrant is slightly more expensive than the outgoing model — Nord CE 2 Lite, however, it does introduce quite a few upgrades.
If you are planning to consider buying the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, here are five pros and cons that you need to know.
OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite Pros:
It’s a OnePlus smartphone
When compared to most Android phones in this price range, the Nord CE 3 Lite stands above the rest because it’s a OnePlus device. The brand has carved out a space for itself among Android smartphone enthusiasts, and this device definitely looks more premium when compared to other smartphones in this price range. The minimalistic design makes the Nord CE 3 Lite one of the best-looking phones under the Rs 20,000 price mark.
Extended software support
Most budget smartphones fail to deliver on extended software support, while the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite offers a premium almost-bloatware free experience (it does include Oppo browser and hot apps recommendations). The company has promised to deliver two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates. Hence, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will get both Android 14 and Android 15 updates, and the device will receive security updates up to 2026.
80W fast charger included in the box
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite supports 67W fast charging, and in the box, the company is including an 80W fast charger, which can also fast charge smartphones from Realme and Oppo. In this day and age, where expensive flagship smartphones ship without a charger, OnePlus is including a fast charging adapter on a phone that costs less than Rs 20,000, which can fully charge the device in less than an hour (in around 45 minutes).
Really loud stereo speakers
The Nord CE 3 Lite packs a stereo speaker setup, where the earpiece doubles as a secondary speaker. The company has also baked in a new software feature that doubles the volume and delivers an almost flagship-like audio experience on this budget smartphone. This makes the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite a great device for multimedia consumption and gaming.
OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite Cons:
Average camera
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 features a 108MP primary camera, a first for a OnePlus smartphone. However, the performance is pretty average, especially when compared to devices like the iQOO Z7. On top of that, there is no dedicated ultra-wide angle lens but does include a 2MP macro and depth sensor. If you are looking for a camera-focused smartphone, then the Nord CE 3 Lite might not cut it.

No 4K video recording support
Another major letdown on the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite also belongs to the camera department. Although it has a 108MP sensor, the phone does not support 4K video recording, and it’s capped at 1080p resolution.
IPS display
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite has a 120Hz FHD+ 6.72-inch IPS panel that cannot match the contrast or the vividness of a phone with an OLED screen like the iQOO Z7 or even the Redmi Note 12 5G. While the big screen is good for all sorts of media consumption, it is definitely not as good as what the competition is offering.
Dated processor
The Snapdragon 695 is a pretty balanced entry-level 5G chip. However, it’s an almost one-and-a-half-year-old chip and doesn’t perform as well as the competition. While one can easily find phones that score over 500,000 points on AnTuTu for under Rs 20,000, the Nord CE 3 Lite only scores around 409,000 points in our testing.

Plastic and glossy back panel
The Nord CE 3 Lite comes with a plastic and glossy back panel. Although it looks great in the pastel lime variant, it is a fingerprint magnet and it also scratches fairly quickly due to the physical properties of the material used. Although most phones in this price range have a plastic panel, some of them at least offer a glossy finish with a fingerprint-resistant coating.
