Google Podcasts Shutting Down: Search giant Google announced that Google Podcasts is set for an exit next year in September this year. While the company did not confirm the month of shutdown earlier, it has now been reportedly confirmed. According to a Google support page (now removed) cited by Ars Technica, the product will die in April 2024.
The Podcast app is the company's third attempt to crack the podcasting game after initiatives like Google Reader (backed by Google Listen) and Google Play Music Podcasts. The next bet to ace the podcasting race is on YouTube Music and Podcasts, which debuted in 2022.
Google's support lists the ways you can migrate your subscriptions. For people interested in YouTube Podcasts, the process will be as simple as a few clicks. If you no longer wish to stay in the podcasting ambience backed by Google, an option to export subscriptions as an OPML file will be available at podcasts.google.com/settings. This mechanism will be live till August next year.

The migration tool shall appear in the Google Podcasts application soon and will be accessible via a banner at the top, according to Gizmochina. It will be available in the US. A global release may follow later.
